Production Supervisor
**Job Title: Production Supervisor (2nd Shift)** Job Description As a Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for directing, supervising, and coordinating production in the assigned area. Your role will ensure the timely and efficient fulfillment of production responsibilities, utilizing personal skills and assigned duties. Responsibilities + Plan, supervise, direct, and engage in daily production operations to minimize lost time and achieve production and quality objectives. + Anticipate production problems such as material shortages, equipment malfunctions, and rush orders. + Utilize skills, work hours, materials, and workflow to meet production goals. + Exchange timely information with other supervisors on interdepartmental product flow and workforce needs. + Instruct, train, guide, motivate, and assist employees to achieve safety, quality, and production objectives. + Participate in the selection and interview process for worker positions and appraise employee performance. + Recommend promotions, transfers, and work assignments. + Provide information or assist in efforts to reduce costs, simplify work, or improve methods and equipment. + Implement all safety policies and procedures, including housekeeping practices and employee awareness of hazardous conditions. + Respond to employee injuries by administering first aid, issuing medical authorization forms, investigating accident causes, and recommending accident prevention methods. + Keep employees informed of company rules and regulations, production, and quality expectations. + Issue warnings and take other approved disciplinary measures when necessary. + Encourage employee communication and endorse an open-door policy. + Maintain professionalism and stay updated on new developments through publications, vendors, and in-house management training. + Authorize overtime and control costs. + Satisfy the customer by safely, quickly, and accurately supervising department personnel in performing preventative maintenance tasks on facilities and machinery. + Plan, schedule, and manage repairs to the facility and machinery. + Ensure all work is scheduled and performed in a safe and efficient manner. + Coordinate and supervise the installation of new equipment. + Train new maintenance personnel in the performance of their duties. + Coordinate and supervise activities of personnel, determining specific work assignments. + Ensure availability of materials, anticipating requirements and reordering. + Interface with production shop supervisors as needed. + Ensure work environment safety by following prescribed guidelines. + Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. + Ensure employees receive proper training on company equipment as required by OSHA, WISHA, and other regulations. + Ensure repairs and maintenance to all equipment and facilities are performed neatly and up to standards. + Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the supervisor. Essential Skills + High school diploma or equivalent. + Trade school training/certification in maintenance-related activities or equivalent experience. + 9-12 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with exposure to hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, crane systems, industrial manufacturing equipment, and basic computer systems. + Strong sense of urgency. + Ability to work independently or as a cooperative team member. + Willingness to take direction from supervisory.
