Production Supervisor
Job Title: Production SupervisorJob Description

The Manufacturing Shift Leader is responsible for overseeing and coordinating production activities during an assigned shift to ensure the efficient, safe, and high-quality operation of the manufacturing process. This role serves as the first line of leadership on the production floor, ensuring that daily goals are met and that team members are supported and held accountable to performance standards.

ResponsibilitiesLead and coordinate the activities of production team members to meet shift production goals.Ensure compliance with all safety policies, procedures, and regulations.Monitor machine and line performance; address issues that impact production efficiency or product quality.Ensure proper staffing levels and manage work assignments to meet production targets.Train new employees and provide on-the-job coaching and support for team development.Maintain accurate records of shift performance, production output, downtime, and quality issues.Communicate effectively with incoming and outgoing shift leaders to ensure continuity of operations.Escalate equipment malfunctions, personnel issues, or production delays to appropriate management.Conduct or participate in daily shift meetings to review goals, performance metrics, and improvement initiatives.Enforce company policies and disciplinary procedures as needed in coordination with HR and supervisors.Foster a positive and productive work environment that promotes teamwork and accountability.
Essential SkillsHigh school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or technical degree preferred.3+ years of leadership experience, leading multiple teams.Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment operation, and safety.Excellent leadership and team coordination skills.Ability to read and interpret production schedules, work orders, and basic technical drawings.Proficient in basic computer systems (Microsoft Office, ERP systems).Excellent communication, problem-solving, and time management skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in lean manufacturing, 5S, or continuous improvement initiatives.Forklift certification or experience operating material handling equipment.Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Plex).

Work Environment

The position operates in a manufacturing floor environment, where you will be exposed to noise, machinery, and varying temperatures. The role requires the ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs during the shift. The schedule involves rotating shifts, with a 2-2-3 schedule moving to in mid October from 6 am to 6 pm. Training will take place on a standard Monday to Friday schedule.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hanover, Maryland.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $80000.00/hr.
