Production - Summer Help
Company Description L&M Radiator, Inc. is a global designer, manufacturer, and distributor of MESABI cooling and heat transfer solutions that are custom-made for heavy equipment in the mining, oil, gas, construction and heavy industrial industries. We are looking for an individual to join our production team for the summer. This position will work directly with other members of the production team on a daily basis to ensure production goals are met. This role may also work with our Research and Development department as well as our Engineering department to test equipment, tools, and products. Job Description **How will you make a difference?** Summer Help – Production employees are to assist with basic shop and manufacturing operations during the summer months, May through August. This temporary position supports multiple production departments and is ideal for individuals who are mechanically inclined and eager to gain hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment. This diverse role allows employees to work with a variety of power tools while having the opportunity to grow their knowledge and skills. Summer Help employees may rotate between departments based on operational needs and will work closely with experienced team members to support daily production goals. This position works directly with other members of production, supervisors, and the production manager when necessary. **Work Schedule** + Temporary full-time summer position. + Employment dates: May/June through August 2026. Shift hours may vary with the potential to follow a rotating schedule. Day shift operates Monday through Friday 6:00am - 2:00pm. Afternoon operates Monday through Friday 2:00pm - 10:00pm. OT is possible depending on production needs. **What will your typical day look like?** Duties may include, but are not limited to: + Assist with general shop and production operations. + Help with making tubes and completing basic assembly tasks. + Wash parts and assist with general cleaning and organization of work areas. + Provide additional support on special projects as needed. + Operate basic hand tools and equipment under supervision. + Follow all safety policies, procedures, and work instructions. + Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors. + Perform other related duties as assigned. + Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area. **What about the physical demands of the job?** + Wear correct PPE – earplugs, protective eye wear, steel-toed boots, and work provided uniform (gloves when necessary). + Lift a minimum of 50lbs. + Stand on concrete for 8-10 hours. + Practice and maintain safe work conditions. **Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required for Entry Level:** + Regular and reliable attendance. + Exposure to blueprint reading. + Mechanical ability, operate air impacts, drills, other power tools. + Read tape measure, calipers, and micrometers. + Ability to learn and advance quickly. + Good at problem solving. + Self-motivated. + Understand and carry out simple oral and written instructions. + Show ability to read, write and use basic math skills. + Ability to communicate, in English, effectively and clearly by both written and verbal means. + Ability to pass a pre-employment written math test, physical, drug, and background test. **Preferred Qualifications:** + Knowledge of Epicor or similar ERP system. + Experience in Lean Manufacturing. You may also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary. This role is also eligible for a performance bonus. Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a drug screen and fitness for duty test. The hourly range for this role is $18.00 per hour. The actual hourly rate offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands, and work location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. Qualifications + 18 years or older. + High school diploma or GED with 1-year of work experience. + Strong mechanical ability and experience using power tools and forklift when necessary.
