Legrand has an exciting opportunity for aProduction Specialistto join theData Center Power and Control Division Starline Teamin Reading, UK.This position directs the workflow of Production Specialists and provides technical support to Production, Engineering and Customer Support. Responsible for the accuracy and flow of manufacturing (routing and materials delivered to each area). Optimizes the routing from bills of materials and drawings created in Engineering.
What Will You Do?
+ Directs the daily workload of a team of Production Specialist 1s.
+ Utilize ERP software to create optimized build of manufacturing.
+ Use product knowledge to provide leadership and guidance to team of Production Specialists.
+ Identify opportunities to reduce lead time via routing improvements.
+ Identify and integrate new sub-assemblies into existing BOMs where effective. This includes the creation of the sub-assembly BOM and documentation.
+ Author intuitive work instructions to communicate to assemblers how to build product.
+ Meet internal service level requirements for completion of BOMs.
+ Review manufacturing documents and system accuracy prior to production release.
+ Complete thorough inspection of engineering drawings, including assembly drawings, wiring diagrams and notes.
+ Submit engineering change notices for erroneous bills of material and engineering documents.
+ Improve manufacturing efficiency through guaranteed document accuracy.
+ Enable right-first-time manufacturing.
+ Maintain expert knowledge of the production processes throughout the factory floor.
+ Develop and sustain an expert knowledge of materials used in the assembly of various product families.
+ Provide project support to OPEX team.
+ Lead first article inspections and engineering prototype builds.
+ Initiate improvements to the bills of manufacturing to achieve efficiency gains.
+ Support operational procedures compliant to ISO 9001-2015.
Qualifications
Required Skills
Education:
+ Two-year technical degree or equivalent years of relevant experience.
Experience:
+ Minimum four years of experience working with ERP software required, Infor Cloudsuite Industrial (SyteLine) preferred.
+ Minimum five years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
+ Ability to read technical drawings and wiring schematics.
+ Expert knowledge of ERP software specific to the creation and editing of current / job operations, current / job materials and item master is required, Infor Cloudsuite Industrial (SyteLine) preferred.
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
+ Advanced mechanical aptitude.
+ Demonstrated ability to read technical drawings.
+ Technical writing ability.
+ Strong interpersonal skills, communication skills both verbal and written.
+ High mechanical aptitude.
+ Expertise with production methods specific to electromechanical assembly.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
+ The performance of this position may require exposure to the manufacturing areas where, under certain areas, the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and mandatory hearing protection are required.
+ Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time.
+ Able to lift and carry up to 25lbs.
