Production Scheduling Supervisor Job Details | Great Lakes Cheese
Job Overview The Production Scheduling Supervisor leads the product scheduling team to build optimum production schedules for the Plant. Job Responsibilities + Leads the production scheduling process, scheduling production orders to packaging lines to optimize efficiency & cost, while maximizing service levels. + Coordinates Finished Goods inventory coverage between plants. + Aligns planned production with Supply Chain priorities and communicates, as appropriate, to the local team. + Demonstrates a deep understanding of Production and Quality constraints critical to product sequencing and operational efficiency. + Develops and monitors Scheduling KPIs that will track and trend the scheduling process. + Initiates formal Problem-Solving and Improvement activities to generate and sustain KPI improvements. + Works collaboratively with Supply Chain and Operations to identify opportunities and drive continuous improvement in scheduling function. + Collaborates with key stakeholders [Supply Chain, Sales, Sales Operations, etc.] to coordinate special requests, updates and order changes. + Performs daily system functions as assigned or requested. + Communicates effectively, providing Plant-based team members and Supply Chain with scheduling priorities and updates. + Ability to be adaptable and flexible in changes and crisis. + All GLC employees are expected to perform any assignment or job task according to the stated safety policies & procedures. + All GLC employees are expected to produce our products in a manner that exceeds the quality and value expectation of our customers and consumers by adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices, Policies and Procedures out lined in our Safe Quality Food Program. + Other responsibilities as assigned by the manager. Required Education and Experience + High School Diploma or GED. + Minimum of 3 years production or production scheduling experience. + Minimum of 1 year experience leading people or projects. + Understanding the operational KPI for materials and production management. + Analytical, reporting, problem solving and continuous improvement experience. + Ability to make decisions based on standard practices. + Advanced Microsoft office computer skills. + SAP experience (or similar ERP system). + Must be legally authorized to work for a company in the U.S. without sponsorship. Preferred Education and Experience + Bachelor Degree from an accredited institution. + 3 or more years leadership experience in a manufacturing/production environment.
