Production Planner

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Production Planner to support manufacturing operations by driving efficient scheduling, material flow, and capacity planning. The ideal candidate will balance competing production priorities, maintain data accuracy within ERP systems, and work closely with shop floor leadership to ensure on-time delivery across Service, Stock, R&D, and Intercompany demands.
 
Job Title: Production Planner
Location: Harahan, LA
Experience Level: $70,000-$80,0000/year (flexibility depending on experience)

 What’s the Job? Balance resource requirements across interdependent shop flows to optimize production efficiency and throughput. Develop and manage component requirements and work-in-process (WIP) across multiple production stations. Ensure visibility and adherence to timelines for Service, Stock, R&D, and Intercompany requirements while coordinating alongside major equipment build schedules. Release, maintain, and manage shop orders to support efficient production workflows. Monitor and review ERP workbenches to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve transaction errors. What’s Needed? Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Industrial Engineering/Technology, or a related field (5+ years of relevant experience acceptable in lieu of degree). 2+ years of experience as a Production Planner or Scheduler in a manufacturing environment. Strong working knowledge of theory of constraints, MRP, lean manufacturing principles, and ERP/MRP systems. Proven ability to manage shifting priorities and competing demands in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills with a hands-on, practical approach.
