Oversee daily operations of a structural steel shop to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production. Manage teams of welders, fitters, machine operators, paint/clean crews, and shipping/receiving staff. Coordinate multiple projects simultaneously to meet tight production schedules and ensure on-time delivery. Interpret shop drawings and ensure compliance with AISC and AWS standards. Collaborate with engineering, quality control, and inspectors to resolve technical or production issues. Track labor, materials, and workflow while driving improvements in safety, quality, and productivity.
