Free Annual leave day. + Career Progression opportunities- Training and upskilling; the small team are a “jack of all trades” providing exposure to different products and technologies + Rewards & Recognition Program + Access to our Employee Assistance Program **Who will you be working with?** In alignment with Wabtec’s Vision, Mission, and Values, be responsible for the leadership and management of the Production Team that contributes to the overall achievement of business goals and objectives of the NZ Operations. **How will you make a difference?** The Production Manager will bring energy and structure to daily operations, driving safety and efficiency in the workshop. Their leadership will strengthen teamwork, reduce downtime and ensure high quality outcomes that meet customer expectations. **Where is the position located?** Wellington, NZ **What will your typical day look like?** + Promote, lead by example and ensure compliance of HSE & Quality practices in accordance with company policy and procedures for all workshop staff, contractors and visitors; + Coordinate resources, resolve issues and supervise the production team for the timely and effective execution of work; + Ensure the execution of production is accordance with relevant work instructions, manuals and test specifications; + Ensure all work documentation packs are completed in full; + Develop and maintain good working relationships with internal stakeholders and customer contacts where required; + Key contributor to develop a weekly plan and directly responsible for the delivery of production requirements; + Mentor and guide technicians with technical knowledge, workshop process and procedures; + Conduct meetings i.e. visual board, production, toolbox and be responsible for ensuring the action and/or escalation of all matters/issues that arise; + Ensure all plant, tooling and equipment is serviced, calibrated and good working order in accordance with relevant requirements; + Promote and lead by example with continuous improvement, lean and 5S initiatives; + Take ownership of responsibilities and actively contribute towards the achievement of business performance goals, delivery timeframes and customer satisfaction; **What do we want to know about you?** Essential Experience: + Certificate 3 in Engineering - Mechanical/Electrical Trade and/or higher; + Effective organisational, time management, multi-tasking and communication skills; + Solid computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office and MRP/ERP systems; and + Current Driver’s license. Desirable Experience + An understanding of the rail industry framework & related technical issues that arise; + Previous experience completing overhaul, repairs and testing to air brake equipment installed on Passenger, Locomotive and Freight rollingstock; + Demonstrable application of LEAN methodologies within a production environment; and + Currently Hold/Willing to obtain - Forklift, First Aid, Fire Warden, SARC, RIW. **We are a 2025 Circle Back Initiative Employer – we commit to respond to every applicant.** **Our Commitment to Embrace Diversity:** Wabtec is a global company that invests not just in our products, but also our people by embracing diversity and inclusion.
