Production Lead - 1st Shift
**Job Title: Production Lead - 1st Shift** Job Description As a Production Lead, you will delegate and oversee the workflow from the potato room through packaging, driving plant KPIs on a shift-by-shift basis. You will assist the Production Supervisor in implementing safety measures and achieving plant-defined KPIs as indicated by the monthly scorecard. You will collaborate with technicians and associates to meet daily production goals and communicate any production-related concerns to the Production Supervisor promptly. Your role will also involve ensuring areas are 'audit ready' by maintaining cleanliness, organization, food safety, and environmental safety. Furthermore, you will lead and train team members on industry processes, equipment operations, safety, GMPs, and food safety processes, while being responsible for reporting any potential food safety issues. Responsibilities + Delegate and oversee workflow to line operations from potato room through packaging. + Drive plant KPIs on a shift-by-shift basis. + Assist Production Supervisor with safety implementation and achieving KPIs. + Collaborate with technicians and associates to complete daily production goals. + Communicate production-related concerns to the Production Supervisor. + Ensure areas are 'audit ready' with acceptable cleanliness, organization, and safety. + Lead training for team members on industry processes, equipment operations, and safety. + Report any potential food safety issues. Essential Skills + 2+ years of production experience. + 2+ years of packaging machine operation. + Experience working in a fast-paced production environment. + 6+ months of leadership experience. + Machine operation skills. + Production lead capabilities. Additional Skills & Qualifications + High school diploma or GED. + One to three months of related experience and/or training. + Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. + Effective communication skills. + Basic algebra and geometry skills. + Physical ability to stand, use hands, stoop, kneel, reach, crouch, crawl, climb, or balance. + Ability to push, pull, or lift up to 50 pounds. + Ability to distinguish colors. Work Environment Work a 1st shift schedule from 6am to 2:30pm, Monday through Friday, with occasional overtime on weekends. The environment is clean, climate-controlled, and a GMP environment, requiring PPE such as hair nets, beard nets, smocks, hard hats, and non-slip steel toes. Spend 1/3 of your time in an office environment and 2/3 in a manufacturing setting. Be prepared to work with moving mechanical parts and in wet or humid conditions, high places, around fumes or airborne particles, and vibration. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Oak Creek, Wisconsin. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $29.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
