Our optical manufacturing facility is growing and expanding!  We're excited to offer new openings for both ENTRY level AND EXPERIENCED optical technicians.  The addition of a new shift creates more opportunities at our optical lab for career growth.   

Schedules:  FT positions will be available on both our 2A and 2B shifts.  These shifts work 3 days/week with 4 days off.  Perfect for those wanting to restructure non-work hours or minimize commutes.  

Shift 2A will work:     Sundays through Tuesdays  (3:30 pm - 4:00 am)Shift 2B will work:     Wednesdays through Fridays  (3:30 pm - 4:00 am)

Pay & extras:  Starts at $17.05 entry level, including 10% shift differential.  PLUS extra bi-weekly bonus opportunities.  We also have a generous PTO plan and many other benefits.

Training:  Our new hires will initially train with a current shift working Sundays - Thursdays (4:00 pm - 12:30 am).  Once new shift personnel are staffed and trained fully, we will implement the permanent 2A & 2B shift schedules.

Job Description

Our associates are responsible for performing a variety of duties, depending on their assigned department and lab needs.  Production Lab Techs help expedite job orders throughout the manufacturing process in a timely and efficient manner in order to serve our customers.

Responsibilities involve observing data on job orders, sorting and organizing job orders, RF scanning and other department specific tasks.

We have production positions available in our Surface, AR (Anti-Reflective) and Finish Departments.

Surface tech duties include:

Backside coating - making sure lens is clean, spraying, wiping lens and loading in machineBlocking and Deblocking, block prepMachine operation, taping, generating, polishingLens washing - removing lens from block, rinsing, washing and drying lens to remove debris

AR tech duties include:

Sorting lenses, cleaning and inspecting for imperfectionsClean dirty rings in ultrasonic cleaner and rinsingSandblasting sectors and panelsLoading lenses into sectors and placing in machinesRemoving sectors, download lenses back to matching trays, visually inspectingOperating and cleaning AR coating machine

Finish tech duties include:

Sorting trays, edging, bevelingTinting - placing lens in holder and tinting to specified colorMounting - inserting lenses into various frames, clean, visually inspectFinal inspection - check lens for defects, correct power, axis, prism and compliance with ANSI standardsShipping - scanning, bagging, sorting and preparing customer orders for shipping
