Production Intern, Prime Video & Amazon MGM Studios
Description Amazon internships are full-time positions, and interns should expect to work Monday-Friday, up to 40 hours per week typically between 8am-5pm. Specific team norms around working hours will be communicated by your manager. Interns should not have conflicts such as class or other employment during the Amazon workday. Amazon Studios is seeking bright, multitasking, dynamic, and self-motivated interns to work hard, have fun, and make history with us this summer. The Amazon Studios Internship Program provides hands-on experience working with the studio behind award-winning shows such as 'Fallout,' 'The Summer I Turned Pretty,' 'Better Sister,' 'Overcompensating,' and many more. In this role, you'll support the US Post Production team of Executives and Coordinators. Working backwards from series launch requirements, you'll learn the end-to-end post-production process for Prime Video content. The position offers exposure to pre-greenlight and pre-production phases, including post-production budgeting and scheduling. You'll gain unique insight into editorial and finishing processes, from creative notes to picture and audio finishing. Additionally, you'll experience both traditional post-production workflows and emerging technologies in cloud-based workflows and AI integration. Key job responsibilities - Assisting with tracking delivery requirements and deadlines - Helping maintain and update team and project databases and status reports - Learning industry-standard software and workflows - Collaborating with various internal departments and external vendors About the team The US Scripted Post Production team guides the editorial and finishing process for Amazon MGM Studios largest series, including 'Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power,' 'Fallout,' and 'The Summer I Turned Pretty.' From our Culver City base, we manage over 50 live-action and animated series annually. Our team of 6 Post Executives and 3 Coordinators steers each project from Pre-Greenlight through Launch on Prime Video. Within Amazon MGM Studios, we collaborate closely with Production, Creative, Localization, Delivery, and Marketing teams throughout the entire process. We establish budgets, supervise hiring for the editorial teams and finishing vendors, and maintain delivery schedules. In collaboration with showrunners, producers, and production teams worldwide, we uphold exceptional standards for creative and technical excellence. The department coordinates with editorial facilities, picture finishing houses, sound stages, and Quality Control teams. We ensure all deliverables meet Prime Video's technical specifications and international requirements. Our executives drive strategic planning, streamline workflows, and cultivate essential industry partnerships. Basic Qualifications - Work 40 hours/week minimum and commit to 12 week internship minimum - Expected graduation conferral date between December 2026 - June 2028 - Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree or above in Film and Television Production, Digital Media, Multimedia Arts, Audio Engineering, Visual Arts, Communications, Journalism, Graphic Design, or majors relating to these fields Preferred Qualifications - Prior experience in scripted, unscripted or film production is preferred, such as working as a Production Assistant, participating in student film projects, or leading student productions or campus organizations - Experience or knowledge in organizational and process management tools Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. The base pay for this position ranges from $40,529/year in our lowest geographic market up to $49,535/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
