About the Role

As a Production Controller at Disney Entertainment Television, you will play a pivotal role in supervising project budgets, cost reports, and cash flow throughout development, production, and postproduction. Reporting directly to the Head of Production Spain, you will leverage your expertise in drama and unscripted production to anticipate challenges, ensure operational efficiency, and uphold Disney’s high production standards. Your strategic mindset and financial oversight will be essential in delivering exceptional content while maintaining full cost control and compliance.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will safeguard the financial integrity of production projects and provide strategic insights to the Head of Production and the Finance Department. You will ensure smooth operations across all stages and maintain adherence to Disney’s standards and practices.

Key responsibilities include:

Analyzing and reviewing 3rd‑party budgets, cash flow, cost reports, and forecastsCollaborating with the Disney Finance Department and sourcing specialized expertise as neededMonitoring and recommending best practices for production accountingEnsuring compliance with tax incentives and providing regular reportsManaging project documentation, including invoices, taxes, audits, and licensesCreating and controlling purchase orders and overseeing due‑diligence processes for hiresEnsuring compliance with Disney Business Standards & Practices and the Live Action Producer’s HandbookAnticipating and resolving production, budgetary, and legal issuesLiaising with Legal and Business Affairs to craft and influence deal termsWorking closely with the OPD Finance team to forecast and monitor production costsServing as the main point of contact for cost controllers on day‑to‑day production mattersProviding local market insights to regional teams


Required Qualifications

Minimum 7 years of proven experience as a Cost ControllerStrong technical understanding of production department needsExperience with industry reporting requirements (financial, TV tax rebates, taxes)Solid knowledge of administration, labor, finance, and accounting in SpainProven ability to create cost reports, forecasts, and financial planning modelsStrong critical thinking, multitasking, and prioritization skills under pressureStrong network and awareness of industry trends and workflowsProficiency with production accounting software (such as Global Vista, PSL3, Sage, Contaplus)Bachelor’s degree7+ years of relevant experience in cost control within production projects
