A Snapshot of Your Day
The Grid Technologies Switch Gear (GT SG) business unit located in Richland, MS. is seeking an experienced, self-driven Production Capacity Planner. As a member of the Operations team the Factory Capacity Planner is responsible for analyzing, planning, and optimizing factory capacity to ensure on-time delivery and efficient use of resources. This role owns the end-to-end capacity planning process, including the creation and management of production slot reservations, to align demand with factory capabilities and constraints. • Translate customer orders and forecasts into executable production plans and manage production slot reservations to optimize factory loading.
• Monitor capacity utilization to identify bottlenecks, constraints, and idle capacity, and define mitigation and improvement actions.
• Analyze variances between planned and actual production performance (output, lead time, utilization) and adjust capacity plans accordingly.
• Prepare and present regular capacity reports and KPIs (utilization, plan adherence, on time delivery) for management review.
• Maintain and continuously improve planning processes, SAP master data (routings, work centers, cycle times, constraints), and data accuracy to support reliable capacity planning.
What You Bring
• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• 5+ years of experience in production planning, capacity planning, or factory scheduling within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong hands-on experience with SAP PP, SD, and MM modules, including order management, material availability, and shop-floor planning.
• Proven ability to manage capacity, load, and slot reservations using ERP or advanced planning systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Infor, APS).
• Experience with manufacturing-to-order, engineer-to-order, material forecasting, and capacity planning processes.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
