Job Description
The General Utility position is an entry-level production role within the manufacturing environment. It encompasses various duties associated with the production area, focusing on maintaining cleanliness and efficiency in meat processing operations. Employees are expected to adhere to policies, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) regulations, ensuring that all production areas remain sanitary.
Responsibilities
Maintain clean and sanitary production areas.Communicate any issues leading to unsanitary conditions promptly.Remove product and packing materials from the floor.Properly dispose of and track inedible products.Separate and remove trash and recycling from production areas.Stage production area with empty containers for the following shift.Assist in preparing and disassembling equipment for operations or sanitation.Ensure proper identification of products to eliminate cross-contamination and allergen concerns.Relieve co-workers for breaks, assisting in other positions as needed.Accurately complete any assigned paperwork.Assist in training new employees accurately.Check in with supervisors for additional tasks before leaving.Visually inspect cases to ensure they are labeled and coded correctly.Make necessary adjustments to machinery for smooth production.Operate a manual hand jack as needed.Communicate all equipment malfunctions promptly.Prepare supplies and workstation for the next shift.Stage ingredients to maintain product flow.Arrange meat as instructed and per specification.Continuously comb, hang, transport, and stack products.Inspect product quality on a conveyor belt.Perform job duties accurately and efficiently.Essential Skills
Dependability and attention to detail.Ability to follow directions and work under minimal supervision.Effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing.Willingness to work weekends and overtime as needed.Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment safely.Additional Skills & Qualifications

Work Environment
This job operates in a manufacturing environment where employees are exposed to moving mechanical parts and varying temperatures. The noise level is usually high. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
