Production Associate
Job Title: Production Associate

Job Description

The Production Associate will be responsible for pulling ingredients and measuring them precisely for the mixing process. You will support production mixer operators by preparing individual batches for various products. The role requires reading batch sheets, accurately measuring ingredients, and ensuring the correct quantities are mixed for safe and high-quality animal supplements or food.

Responsibilities

Read batch sheets to determine types and amounts of ingredients needed for specific products.Use a push cart to collect individual ingredients from various locations.Ensure accuracy by matching bin location, product number, and description.Transport ingredients to the mixing station and prepare them for batching.Use digital and analog scales, measuring cups, and other tools to ensure precise measurements.Seal and return bulk containers of ingredients to proper shelving positions.Assist with restocking shelves, mixing processes, and cleaning equipment as needed.Follow all company rules and policies, including attendance, OSHA safety, and Food Safety.Produce high-quality, reliable, and safe products for pets, meeting daily production objectives.Maintain a team-first attitude and contribute to team success.Complete production records and documents accurately.Avoid contamination by adhering to food safety procedures.Follow SOPs, GMPs, guidelines, and policies.Communicate effectively with team members, managers, and other departments.Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Essential Skills

Ability to weigh and measure products accurately.Attention to detail.Physical ability to lift up to 60 pounds repetitively.Understanding of standard operating procedures (SOPs).Basic math skills to convert kilos to pounds.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience in cleaning, warehouse, feed mill, production, and mixing.Experience with inventory control, data entry, and forklift operation.Ability to perform cycle counts and shipping tasks.

Work Environment

The production facility is brand new, modern, and clean, operating primarily on the 1st shift with three mixers running. The role requires exposure to smells such as Brewer’s Yeast, Chicken, Beef, and Pork. The dress code includes pants, a t-shirt, closed-toe non-slip shoes, and GMP requirements such as hair nets and beard nets. A shift supervisor and a production worker will provide basic training. Employees are required to keep non-slip shoes at work to avoid bringing outside shoes into the production or warehouse area.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of East Earl, Pennsylvania.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
