**Job Title: Utility Operator**
**Job Description**
As a Utility Operator, you will play a crucial role in supporting machine operators by ensuring materials are accurately mixed, handled, and packaged according to specifications. Your responsibilities will include reading work orders, loading and unloading materials, maintaining packaging supplies, and assisting with various operational tasks to facilitate efficient production processes.
**Responsibilities**
+ Read work orders or follow oral instructions to determine materials to be mixed for each run.
+ Load and unload materials onto or from pallets, racks, and shelves using forklifts or by hand.
+ Load resins into blenders, grinders, dryers, and hoppers manually or using a vacuum system.
+ Maintain and prepare packaging supplies.
+ Package all finished products ensuring correct packaging material, labels, and details per customer specifications.
+ Handle materials and control inventory using barcode scanners.
+ Assist operators with stringing lines, taking rolls off machines, roll data entry, roll changing, changing trim, mounting unwound rolls, cutovers, and cleaning the systems.
+ Assist warehouse manager with monthly inventory.
+ Maintain confidentiality of information such as formulas, supplier names, materials, process conditions, and setup information.
+ Perform other relevant duties to assist machine operators, including moving boxes and unloading trucks.

+ Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
+ Ability to take direction from multiple supervisors.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ High school diploma preferred but not required.
+ Prior manufacturing experience is not required.

**Work Environment**
The work takes place in a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility with industry-leading extrusion capabilities. Employees work in a clean room environment, adhering to a dress code that includes wearing hair nets and hard hats, which are provided. For candidates with facial hair, beard guards are required. The shifts are structured with rotating schedules, including day and night shifts, providing flexibility in work hours.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Greenfield, Massachusetts.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $21.50/hr.
