Understand true process efficiencies and create meaningful, accurate, and easy to use reports for Daily Gemba tracking.  To learn and understand actual product cycle times, compare those to known product routing times, and develop a functional, sophisticated, yet easy-to-use and understand daily report for use at daily GEMBA presentations.

Responsibilities Gain hands-on experience in a real-world manufacturing environment to apply knowledge learned in the classroomUnderstand how to calculate and improve production efficienciesReduce downtime associated with eight wastesInterfacing with an ERP SystemIdentify efficiency improvements to existing assembly lines and realize cost savings by line balancingParticipate in daily GEMBA walksParticipate and lead Kaizen/Continuous Improvement EventsCreate and promote a new 5S implementation strategy for the production floorCollaborate daily with Production Operators to better understand manufacturing processesIdentify gaps and opportunities in standard workCreate/update standard work documentation Qualifications Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program in the field of Engineering or BusinessGood academic standingExcellent verbal, written and interpersonal skillsExcellent computer skills; Excel, Word, PowerPointERP/MRP backgroundAbility to handle and prioritize multiple tasks effectivelyRising Junior or Senior in a degree program for Bachelor of Science degree (B.S) from a four-year college or university in Business or another related field.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, hear, stand and walk.  The employee will frequently be required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds using proper lifting techniques. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
