Product Owner I (Workday Recruit)

As a candidate, you are encouraged to ask compensation related questions and have an open dialogue with your recruiter who can provide you more specific details for this role. **Job Description:** **CUSTOMER** + Partner with management to support the delivery of a product vision + In alignment with the product vision, create and maintain a product backlog and continuously re-prioritize user stories that will provide the most customer or end user value + Continuously align with senior management on the product delivery roadmap, defined Minimum Marketable Features or Minimum Viable Products and release cadence + Review performance analytics; recommend and champion strategies to enhance the customer or end user product experience + Participate in scrum or Kanban events (e.g. stand-ups, retrospectives), express new ideas for improving product value or delivery efficiency, sharing with leadership as appropriate + Proactively engage established business process partners to ensure customers or end users are prepared for application changes and establish Day 2 processes + Create a value-focused product backlog and continuously iterate, ensuring there are user stories scoped and prioritized + Provide user story design, development and completion oversight; accepting / rejecting user stories based on the agreed upon Definition of Done and Acceptance Criteria + Manage delivery initiatives and oversee development team (pod) backlogs + Proactively raise issues that impede the efficient delivery of customer-focused increments + Responsible for defect management and prioritization **EMPLOYEE / TEAM** + Participate fully as a member of the team, support a positive work environment that promotes service to the business, quality, innovation and teamwork and ensure timely communication of issues/ points of interest + Provide thought leadership and/ or industry knowledge for own area of expertise in own area and participate in knowledge transfer within the team and business unit + Keep current on emerging trends/ developments and grow knowledge of the business, related tools and techniques + Participate in personal performance management and development activities, including cross training within own team + Keep others informed and up-to-date about the status / progress of projects and / or all relevant or useful information related to day-to-day activities + Contribute to team development of skills and capabilities through mentorship of others, by sharing knowledge and experiences and leveraging best practices. + Lead, motivate and develop relationships with internal and external business partners / stakeholders to develop productive working relationships. + Contribute to a fair, positive and equitable environment that supports a diverse workforce + Act as a brand ambassador for your business area/function and the bank, both internally and/or externally **Accountabilities:** + Works closely with Talent Acquisitions stakeholders to shape, deliver, and continuously improve our hiring technology ecosystem, ensuring it supports strategic business goals and delivers outstanding candidate, recruiter and hiring managers experiences. + Develop and maintain a clear product vision for Workday modules related to talent acquisition, aligning with organizational goals and HR strategies. Champion innovation and best practices in recruiting technology. + Act as the primary liaison between HR, IT, business leaders, vendors, and candidates. Gather and prioritize requirements from diverse stakeholders, ensuring that the Workday product roadmap addresses business needs. + Own and prioritize the product backlog for talent acquisition modules in Workday, balancing enhancements, bug fixes, and compliance updates. Define clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and release plans. + Guide the design, configuration, testing, and deployment of Workday Talent Acquisition modules (Recruiting, Onboarding, etc.). Continuously monitor performance, solicit feedback, and drive iterative improvements. + Analyze current hiring practices and talent workflows. Identify opportunities to automate, streamline, and enhance processes, leveraging Workday’s capabilities to drive efficiency and compliance. + Keep current on industry trends in talent acquisition and HR technology, as well as regulatory issues affecting hiring practices (e.g., equal opportunity, background checks, data privacy) Qualifications: + Dynamic and detail-oriented Product Owner with expertise in Workday and talent acquisition processes. + Workday Product experience a must (if we can say that) if not then preferred. Pro certification is a bonus. + 3+ years of hands-on experience as a product owner, business analyst, or system administrator with Workday, specifically in Recruiting and Onboarding modules. It will be hard to put someone in this role that hasn’t had similar leadership accountabilities. Unless they are super strong analyst and ready for the next level. + Demonstrated experience working in Agile environments, leading sprint planning, backlog grooming, and release management for HR technology projects. + Experience with Workday configuration, security, business process frameworks, and integrations with third-party recruiting solutions (e.g., background screening vendors, assessment tools). + Ability to analyze data, generate insights, and present findings to stakeholders. Familiarity with Workday reporting tools and dashboard creation. + Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to translate technical concepts into business language and vice versa. Proven track record of building consensus and driving change among diverse stakeholders. + Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage competing demands, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment. + Creative and resourceful approach to challenges, with a commitment to continuous improvement and innovation. + Awareness of relevant labor laws, data privacy requirements, and best practices for equitable and inclusive hiring **Who We Are:** TD is one of the world's leading global financial institutions and is the fifth largest bank in North America by branches/stores.
