As the Product Owner, you will be responsible for delivery of multi-team projects by translating product strategy, understanding business requirements, and collaborating with multiple functional groups and stakeholders. In this hands-on role, you will collaborate closely with our Software, Hardware, Research, and Operations teams—as well as other cross-functional partners—to translate product strategy and business requirement into world class GenXpert products and capabilities. You will partner with Cepheid IDC and Cepheid Sunnyvale leadership to build product subject matter expertise at Cepheid. This position is part of the R&D Department and will be located in Bangalore, IDC, India . In this role, you will have the opportunity to: + Define, document, and maintain technical epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria in Agile tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps) to support feature development requirements, backlog prioritization, and sprint planning + Manage end‑to‑end feature lifecycle execution by tracking story progress, validating deliverables in Sprint demos, and driving resolution of impediments to meet Release/Sprint Goals + Lead feature iteration planning and release scoping by assessing schedule, cost, quality, and functional trade‑offs, and setting measurable release expectations for new product capabilities + Perform competitive analysis and market research to evaluate product capabilities, user segments, and technology trends that inform product roadmap requirements + Coordinate cross‑functional inputs from product management, QA, documentation, training, deployment, and support teams to ensure alignment and timely delivery of product releases The essential requirements of the job include: + Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related engineering field with 8+ years of experience as a Software Product Owner or business analyst in regulated in vitro diagnostics or medical device environments + Proficiency in SDLC practices and frameworks with hands-on experience using backlog management systems such as JIRA and Confluence + In-depth knowledge of Agile methodologies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and iterative development processes + Demonstrated experience supporting global product development activities requiring cross-time-zone collaboration and participation in virtual meetings + Ability to apply industry-specific regulatory knowledge and product development practices within IVD or medical device environments It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in: + A background in leveraging AI to improve operational performance. + Experience working with distributed teams in a global setting.
