Open source is a critical component to the software development lifecycle (SDLC) at JPMorganChase. At JPMC we build with open source, engage with open source forums and communities, and contribute open source code to the upstream repositories of projects we consume.
As a Product Manager in the Office of CTO you are an integral part of the team that innovates new product offerings and leads the end-to-end product life cycle that encompasses our open source software use at the firm. As a core leader, you are responsible for acting as the voice of the customer – in this our developers, both internal and external, and developing platforms that provide customer value. Utilizing your deep understanding of how to get a product off the ground, you guide the successful launch of products, gather crucial feedback, and ensure top-tier developer experiences. With a strong commitment to scalability, resiliency, and stability, you collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products that exceed our internal and external developer customers' expectations.
Job Responsibilities:
Drive the execution and realization of the open source roadmap, both the dimension of how we consume open source and also how to make contributions with the Head of Open Source Governance and input from other senior leaders in the Office of CTOIdentify and prioritize open source consumption, inbound, and contribution, outbound, Key Performance Indicators, and associated metricsCurate our open source foundation investment portfolio and maintain support strategiesServe our internal developer customers by fulfilling open source consultation requests Develop and maintain our product strategy and product vision that delivers value to customers Manage discovery efforts and market research to uncover customer solutions and integrate them into the product roadmap; owns, maintains, and develops a product backlog that enables development to support the overall strategic roadmap and value proposition Build the framework and track the product and processes successBe active and visible in the open source community; participate in and speak at open source, and more general developer conferences
Required Qualifications, Skills and Capabilities:
5+ years of experience or equivalent expertise in product management or a relevant domain area
Understand the fundamentals of Software Bills of Materials, software supply chain, and software security
Good organizational and prioritization skills, detail-oriented, strong interpersonal and influencing skills
Ability to foster partnerships across lines of business to achieve goals and quality results in high-pressure, rapidly changing environment requiring flexibility and adaptability to changeable directives
Excellent written/verbal communication and presentations skills targeting various stakeholders and senior management
Advanced knowledge of the product development life cycle, design, and data analytics
Proven ability to lead product life cycle activities including discovery, ideation, strategic development, requirements definition, and value management
Preferred Qualifications, Skills and Capabilities:
Demonstrated prior experience working in a highly matrixed, complex organization
Some experience coding or developing software or working with data-processing languages or tools including Python, SQL, etc.
Familiarity with contribution tooling, CI/CD tools, and GitHub
Sufficient data engineering and Python development skills to help create and improve open source dashboards and reporting
Comfortable working in and around the financial services industry a plus
Comfortable with the "working backwards" process, writing PR FAQs, Agile, Jira, Scrum experience
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or similar
