PURPOSE OF THE ROLE 

Unilever is embarking on a business transformation program which will transform its existing operating model to a simplified, global model which will be able to adopt AI enabled processes. 

Key enabler of the program is replacement of existing 4 regional SAP ECC based ERP systems with a Global fit to standard SAP S4HANA system. 

 

Purpose of Job: 

As Product Manager for Make- MES , Quality within the transformation Program, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering end-to-end digital solutions that drive Unilever’s enterprise transformation agenda. This role is central to the success of the program and encompasses leadership across ERP and adjacent solution tracks. 

You will be responsible for owning the full lifecycle of solution delivery—implementing the harmonized process from system design to deployment—ensuring alignment with principles such as clean-core ERP, lean architecture, and scalable, integrated solutions. Your scope spans delivery of solution on the core for critical business processes in Manufacturing & Quality Management, where you will guide the team through transformation while ensuring operational continuity during the duration of the program. 

You will be accountable for the delivery of technical and functional solutions on core ERP and partnering with satellite applications for landing the program for Make-MES, Quality area. You will be required to partner closely with Business product domains (where destination architecture is in place and/or remediation of the layer 1 applications- as required) to co-create scalable, integrated end to end solutions that reflect program Principles, industry best practices, and lean-core standards. Your leadership will be critical in aligning with business priorities, advocating harmonized processes, and enabling successful transformation to co-create scalable, integrated end to end solutions that reflect the program Principles through- 

Resolving functional roadblocks through hands-on engagement with process owners and delivery teams. 

Managing the transition from four legacy SAP ECC systems to a unified ERP platform for the process area. 

Ensuring stability, cost-efficiency, and scalability of the future application landscape. 

Additionally, you will work in close alignment with Data, Integration, AI Strategy, and Cloud teams to shape a future-ready ecosystem that supports Unilever’s digital ambitions and operational excellence.

 

Key Accountabilities: 

Strategic Leadership 

Drive the delivery of digital solutions for Make and Quality, aligning with destination architecture, enterprise goals, and global process designs. Embed strategic priorities into solution delivery to enable simplification, standardisation, and harmonisation across markets. 

End-to-End Solution Ownership 

Lead the design, build, and deployment of ERP and related satellite applications for Make and Quality, working closely with platform owners and business product domains. Ensure seamless integration and transition from legacy SAP ECC systems to a unified ERP landscape. 

Process Harmonisation & Optimisation 

Champion standardised, simplified processes for manufacturing and quality that reduce complexity, enhance compliance, and enable innovation across the application ecosystem. 

Cross-Functional Collaboration 

Partner with Global Process Owners, System Integrators, and Business Product Domain Teams to co-create scalable, clean-core solutions aligned with best practices and business needs. 

Technical & Functional Stewardship 

Provide decisive, hands-on leadership to resolve technical and functional challenges, ensuring timely, high-quality delivery across integrated applications. Act as the strategic link between business objectives and technology capabilities—translating goals into scalable, low/no-customisation solutions in close partnership with Process Owners. 

Future-Ready Architecture 

Collaborate with Data, Integration, AI Strategy, and Cloud teams to shape a stable, cost-effective, and scalable digital ecosystem aligned with the program principles. Enable AI-driven automation and predictive analytics for manufacturing and quality processes. 

Transformation Leadership 

Partner with Product Partners, System Integrators, and Enterprise Architecture to enable the ‘To-Be’ application landscape. Own the integrated technology delivery plan across all lifecycle stages—from functional and technical design to implementation and go-live. 

Delivery & Governance 

Establish clear objectives, priorities, and deliverables for each release. Drive accountability for quality outcomes and ensure alignment with business goals through close engagement with process owners and stakeholders. 

Experience & Qualifications: 

This role demands a blend of strategic foresight, technical acumen, and strong stakeholder engagement to ensure that the transformation delivers tangible business value. 

8-10 years of experience across technology and functional roles, with leadership in large-scale ERP and manufacturing transformation programmes. 

Expertise in ERP implementations in areas of SAP Manufacturing, QM, MDM, PP, PPDS, WM- including configuration, process setup, and system integration. 

Strong understanding of Unilever’s Make and Quality business models, with working knowledge across Procurement, Finance, Customer Development, and Operations. 

Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and System Integrators through design, development, and deployment phases. 

Skilled in aligning technical solutions with strategic business goals and driving complex change across multiple markets. 

Familiarity with Unilever’s enterprise applications, product landscape, and master data structures relevant to manufacturing and quality. 

Extensive experience in enterprise applications, integration frameworks, and scalable solution design for shopfloor and quality processes. 

Domain expertise in Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Manufacturing Operations, Production Planning and Scheduling, MDG, Quality Management, Production Models/BoM, Material Resource Planning and related ERP modules, with a focus on process harmonisation and optimisation. 

End-to-end solution delivery ownership across technical and functional domains. 

Proficient in project and programme management within agile environments. 

Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving skills and stakeholder engagement capabilities. 

Advocate of fit-to-standard and lean-core architecture principles. 

Knowledgeable in data migration, integration platforms, AI strategy, and cloud ecosystems.
