As a Product Manager in Core Cash Fraud Prevention, you are an integral part of the team that innovates new product offerings and leads the end-to-end product life cycle. As a core leader, you are responsible for acting as the voice of the customer and developing profitable products that provide customer value. Utilizing your deep understanding of how to get a product off the ground, you guide the successful launch of products, gather crucial feedback, and ensure top-tier client experiences. With a strong commitment to scalability, resiliency, and stability, you collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products that exceed customer expectations.

 

Job Responsibilities

Develops a product strategy and product vision that delivers value to customers, aligned with business objectives and risk appetite for fraud prevention solutionsManages discovery efforts and market research to uncover customer solutions and integrate them into the product roadmap, including threat analysis, competitive benchmarking, and emerging fraud pattern identificationOwns, maintains, and develops a product backlog that enables development to support the overall strategic roadmap and value proposition using Agile methodologiesBuilds the framework and tracks the product's key success metrics such as cost, feature and functionality, risk posture, reliability, fraud detection effectiveness, and false positive ratesLeads the design, development, and optimization of fraud detection rules, models, and algorithms for core cash payment channels including Wires, ACH, RTP, and emerging payment methodsAnalyzes fraud trends, attack vectors, and typologies to continuously enhance detection capabilities while balancing fraud prevention effectiveness with customer experienceCollaborates with data science teams to develop and deploy machine learning models for fraud detection and defines fraud case management workflows and investigation processesLeads the design and implementation of on-premises fraud prevention solutions with consideration for security, scalability, and performance requirementsDevelops and executes migration strategies to transition fraud detection capabilities from legacy systems to modern platforms with zero or minimal disruption through comprehensive testing and contingency planningDesigns fraud detection and prevention mechanisms that comply with regional regulatory requirements  Collaborates with compliance, legal, and risk teams to ensure product features meet all applicable regulatory standards, fraud reporting obligations, and maintain proper documentation and audit trails for regulatory examinations

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

5+ years of experience or equivalent expertise in product management or a relevant domain areaAdvanced knowledge of the product development life cycle, design, and data analyticsProven ability to lead product life cycle activities including discovery, ideation, strategic development, requirements definition, and value managementMinimum 3 years of Financial Technology experience with deep understanding of Banking Payment Domain including Wires, ACH, Real Time Payments, and ISO 20022 standardsExtensive experience working with fraud detection systems and deep understanding of fraud patterns, typologies, and attack vectors in payment ecosystems, including experience with fraud case management and investigation workflowsProven experience designing and implementing on-premises payment and fraud prevention solutionsStrong proficiency in Agile development methodologies and tools (JIRA) with ability to write clear, comprehensive user stories following INVEST principles with well-defined acceptance criteriaStrong understanding of regional payment regulations and fraud prevention requirements across multiple jurisdictions (US, EMEA, APAC), and fraud reporting obligationsExperience with API design, contract definition, and specifications (Swagger preferred) and knowledge of web service protocols and technologies (SOAP, XML, JSON)SQL and database scripting capabilities with ability to analyze large datasetsBachelor's or Master's degree required; Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related quantitative field strongly preferred

Demonstrated prior experience working in a highly matrixed, complex organization6-12 years of experience in software development or technology companiesExpertise in fraud detection methodologies, machine learning models, and rule-based enginesExperience with fraud detection rule engines and scoring modelsKnowledge of vendor products like threat metrix, emailage, neustar and zimperiumTrack record of delivering products with "first time right, on-time delivery" approachExperience gathering and synthesizing requirements from diverse stakeholders including fraud investigators, compliance officers, and business partners through structured interviews and feedback sessions
