As a member of the Product Development team, this role assists Product Development Engineering in coordinating all aspects of projects related to the improvement of proprietary products or the development of new proprietary or custom business solutions.
ResponsibilitiesWork under the direct supervision of a Product Development Engineer, Manager, or Director to support and coordinate all aspects of product development projects.Collaborate with and help lead multidisciplinary teams; organize and support production and development trials as needed.Obtain vendor quotations for new tooling or modifications to existing proprietary tooling.Assist in estimating costs for custom and proprietary product development projects.Develop, maintain, and update part drawings and tooling prints.Create part models and prototypes for internal evaluation and customer review.Support Tooling Engineers and Product Development Engineers in the design of prototype tooling.Evaluate prototype parts and assist with tooling modifications as required.Assist in modifying new or existing production tooling to ensure proper part functionality.Support the development of quality assurance and testing programs for customer and proprietary projects.Organize test data and prepare presentations, project summaries, reports, and technical analyses.Maintain and adhere to all company safety, environmental, and health requirements.QualificationsCurrently enrolled in an Engineering degree program, preferably at the sophomore, junior, or senior level.Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Self-motivated, proactive, and detail-oriented.What You’ll LearnHands-on experience supporting real-world product development and engineering projects from concept through production.Exposure to multidisciplinary teamwork, including coordination with engineering, tooling, quality, and manufacturing teams.Practical knowledge of tooling design, prototype development, and production tooling modifications.Experience creating and maintaining engineering drawings, models, and tooling documentation.Understanding of cost estimation, vendor sourcing, and quoting processes for custom and proprietary projects.Insight into quality assurance testing methods, data collection, and technical reporting.Professional communication skills through presentations, reports, and cross-functional collaboration.Real-world application of engineering principles in a manufacturing and product development environment.Our ExpectationsWe expect our people to be guided by The Amcor Way and demonstrate our Values every day to enable the business to win.
