Product Development Engineer

Job Title: Product Development Engineer

Job Description

As a Product Development Engineer, you will be responsible for reviewing new product drawings and models, generating planning flow for new products, and creating Manufacturing Control models and Drawings. You will reverse engineer product models and drawings to generate regressive manufacturing forms, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of manufacturing routers and creating tool orders. Additionally, you will perform manufacturing simulations and organize Manufacturing Readiness Reviews to drive actions to completion. You will also estimate time, tooling, and operations for spares quotations and new program proposals, consult on inspection plans, and help develop or update standards/documentation based on lessons learned.

Responsibilities

Review and generate planning flow for new product drawings and models.Create Manufacturing Control models and Drawings and reverse engineer product models.Review and approve tool designs and create visual work instructions for new products.Perform manufacturing simulations and organize Manufacturing Readiness Reviews.Estimate time, tooling, and operations for spares quotations and new program proposals.Guide and train junior members of the Integrated Product Team.Adhere to APQP and AS9100 principles.

Essential Skills

Highly skilled in Catia v5, especially the FTA workbench.Expert in GD&T interpretation and application per ASME Y14.5-2018.Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel.Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.Minimum of 4 years of experience in aerospace manufacturing.Experience leading Integrated Product Teams in a manufacturing environment.Experience with metal fabrication and processing equipment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Certification in GD&T is a plus.Experience with manufacturing simulation software is advantageous.Experience with chemical and thermal processing.

Work Environment

The role requires onsite work five days a week, from Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The environment includes the use of various metal fabrication and processing equipment. You will work in a collaborative setting, helping to guide and train team members while contributing to process improvements.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Burbank, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $115000.00 - $115000.00/yr.
