Product Development Chef

Our client is seeking a Contract Product Development Chef to bring culinary creativity, technical expertise, and commercial thinking together. This is a unique opportunity for a chef who enjoys being customer-facing, thrives in product innovation, and understands how great food is brought to life at scale. This position is located in Richmond, BC.
In this role, you’ll represent our client in front of food service and retail partners, lead hands-on product demonstrations, and play a key role in developing the next generation of ready-to-cook and ready-to-eat seafood products for national retail customers.
What You'll Receive: 30–40 hours per month (flexible; ideal for chefs with other professional commitments) $80–$100 per hour, depending on experience Direct contractor relationship Long-term partnership potential for the right candidate
What You’ll Be Doing Deliver engaging in-person product demonstrations for food service and retail clients Customize recipes and applications to align with specific restaurant concepts and customer needs Develop and refine recipes designed for large-scale manufacturing and commercialization Collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing, Manufacturing, and R&D teams Work in the test kitchen to iterate quickly and incorporate real-time feedback
What We’re Looking For Experience as a Corporate Chef, Product Development Chef, or R&D Chef Strong background in CPG, packaged foods, or food manufacturing Proven ability to design recipes that translate from kitchen to commercial-scale production Confidence in presenting and cooking live in front of customers and stakeholders Culinary expertise in Western and/or Japanese cuisine High standards for cleanliness, organization, and food safety Based in the Lower Mainland and available for in-person demos and meetings
