Job Title: Product Cyber Security EngineerJob Description

The role involves ensuring the cybersecurity of vehicle communication systems, both internal and external. This includes penetration testing, wireless communication security, and backend service integration, with a focus on the application layer.

ResponsibilitiesPerform hands-on testing to verify and validate cybersecurity requirements across vehicle systems and components.Develop and refine cybersecurity test procedures for in‑vehicle systems and connected ecosystems.Research emerging cybersecurity threats, tools, technologies, and testing methodologies related to automotive environments.Translate cybersecurity requirements into actionable test strategies and contribute to an internal cybersecurity testing playbook.Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure test approaches align with evolving system architectures and security expectations.Develop internal tools, scripts, or frameworks to support and automate cybersecurity requirement validation.Support long-term initiatives to scale, streamline, and automate cybersecurity testing across the full automotive technology stack.Essential SkillsExperience in embedded systems, mobile security, cloud computing, and API security.Proficiency in penetration testing and reverse engineering, particularly in PCB analysis and design.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, preferred.At least 3 years of industry or academic experience with hardware systems, embedded software, or computer security.Solid understanding of APIs and application-level security, including authentication protocols like OAuth and SAML.Additional Skills & QualificationsFamiliarity with vehicle architectures, embedded systems, or automotive communication networks (CAN, LIN, Ethernet) is a plus.Interest in connected vehicle technologies such as mobile app integration, cloud services, telematics, and EV infrastructure.Strong interest in cybersecurity with a willingness to learn hands-on techniques in threat modeling, test design, and system evaluation.Ability to clearly document technical processes and follow structured testing workflows.Proficiency in scripting or programming languages such as Python, C/C++.Work Environment

The position is onsite, requiring work in a secured area five days per week.

This is a Contract position based out of Plano, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $70.00/hr.
