Procurement Specialist Summary The Procurement Specialist is responsible for managing purchasing activities, including processing purchase requisitions and procuring services, supplies, and equipment in accordance with established policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to balance strategic thinking with practical execution. This role requires sharp analytical and problem-solving abilities, sound judgment, and excellent organizational skills to prioritize tasks and thrive in a dynamic environment. Key Responsibilities + Manage Purchase Requests: Process supply requisitions and create purchase orders for a variety of goods and services, covering both direct and indirect procurement needs. + Supplier Negotiations: Negotiate with suppliers to secure favorable terms related to pricing, quality, and delivery timelines. + Vendor Onboarding & Due Diligence: Oversee the onboarding process for new vendors, ensuring compliance with organizational standards. + Contract Preparation & Analysis: Assist with drafting, reviewing, and analyzing contracts to ensure compliance and favorable terms. + Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including legal, accounting, and finance, to support procurement activities. + Invoice & Payment Coordination: Partner with accounts payable to ensure timely invoice processing and payment. + Compliance Assurance: Adhere to organizational policies, including delegation of authority and signature protocols. + ERP Reporting: Maintain accurate procurement records and generate reports within the ERP system to support transparency and informed decision-making. Education, Experience, and Skills + Minimum of one year of procurement experience in a high-volume environment + Strong knowledge of procurement processes, policies, and systems + Ability to multitask effectively and prioritize in a fast-paced setting + Analytical and problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset + Self-motivated and team-oriented + Excellent organizational and communication skills (verbal and written) + Strong attention to detail + Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Stamford, CT. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
