Job Title: Procurement Specialist

Job Description

The Procurement Specialist is responsible for acquiring materials and documents to fulfill requests for purchases. This includes preparing purchase orders and handling inquiries about orders. The role involves following through with the purchase from order placement to fulfillment, ensuring the order arrives undamaged and on time. The position focuses on ordering parts for future orders, such as cranes, fuel tanks, high rail gear, and other components.

ResponsibilitiesHandle requests for purchases and ensure all documentation on tickets is accurate.Verify and affix the amount of purchase to the package and handle questions and concerns about merchandise.Track purchases from order placement until it arrives in the hands of the order placer.Keep track of inventory and order supplies.Ensure packages arrive on time and verify they meet all customer specifications.Notify the appropriate department of the placement of orders and ensure inventory is stocked for purchase order fulfillment.Prepare invitation-to-bid forms and distribute them, comparing prices and expected delivery dates proposed by suppliers.Choose the best bid and compile records of items purchased or transferred between departments, including prices, deliveries, and inventories.Determine the cause of any delays en-route and match purchase orders with shipments.Verify the billed amount with goods received and handle invoices, forwarding them to the accounting department.Monitor inventory control systems and prepare inventory transfer forms.Classify priority regulations.Essential SkillsAt least 2 years of procurement experience.Proficiency in ERP software.Ability to read and interpret blueprints (training available if other skills are met).Proficient in Microsoft Office.Strong skills in strategic sourcing, negotiation, and supplier management.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in the automotive industry.Experience with purchasing and purchase orders.Skills in vendor management and procurement analysis.Work Environment

This position involves working in a hybrid environment that includes both office and manufacturing settings. Some client-facing interactions are required as needed.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $33.00/hr.
