**Job Title:** Procurement Specialist
**Location:** Red Deer, AB
Our client, a leader in the chemicals industry, is seeking a Procurement Specialist to join their team. As a Procurement Specialist, you will be part of the Procurement Department supporting various teams. The ideal candidate will have strong negotiation skills, excellent analytical abilities, and a collaborative mindset which will align successfully in the organization.
**What's the Job?**
+ Support the development of enterprise-wide category strategies to achieve cost savings and improve quality.
+ Provide negotiating and contracting leadership for strategic contracts related to materials and services.
+ Oversee all spend activity and purchase requests for assigned category areas.
+ Drive the use of procurement best practices and standardization of procurement processes.
+ Collaborate with Category Managers to ensure a deep understanding of the supply market.
**What's Needed?**
+ A Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain or Business Management with 8+ years of related experience.
+ At least 8 years of experience in procurement within a manufacturing and construction environment.
+ Professional Designation (e.g., Certified Purchasing Manager, PMP, CSCMP) is preferred.
+ Experience in Strategic Sourcing/Procurement and Contract Negotiation.
+ Strong interpersonal and mentoring skills to coach and guide team members.
