Procurement Representative

Job Characteristics: Provides category support to one of the major spend categories. May also work in a specialty area such as compliance, systems and processes. Contracts, selects and negotiates with vendors. Evaluates vendor reliability and follows up on any problems regarding the use of purchased materials. Works closely on a daily basis with suppliers and internal associates including planners, and plant procurement associates to help ensure high service and quality levels that align to the negotiated terms of the supplier contract. Negotiates contracts.

Duties:

Timely procurement and delivery of high-quality products for clientsPreparing of Job OrdersEnsure delivery of procured itemsDealings with suppliers, manufacturers and vendors as regards quality electromechanical and building products used in the maintenance of a high-rise building facilities.Discover profitable suppliers and initiate business and organization partnershipsNegotiate with external vendors to secure advantageous termsApprove the ordering of necessary goods and servicesFinalize purchase details of orders and deliveriesExamine and test existing contractsTrack and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectivenessCollaborate with key persons to ensure clarity of the specifications and expectations of the companyForesee alterations in the comparative negotiating ability of suppliers and clientsExpect unfavourable events through analysis of data and prepare control strategiesPerform risk management for supply contracts and agreementsControl spend and build a culture of long-term saving on procurement costsManages day-to-day activities within designated supplier relationships for existing suppliers in their assigned categories.Manages service level and quality complaint resolution as required for existing supplier base.Identifies, communicates, and supports process improvements for materials or services in assigned areas and with key stakeholders as required.Uses TDC sourcing processes and tools to effectively manage assigned sub-categories.Responsible for executing sourcing strategies and savings projects within assigned sub-categories.Acts as second line of defense in expediting orders to ensure adherence to contracted delivery terms and investigates and resolves problems as required.Identifies alternate suppliers and/or alternate materials/processes and drives approval process.Owns contract process for assigned category. Responsibility for ensuring contracts within the category are updated, accurate, and uploaded in the required contract system.Responsible for financial reporting of savings projects and headwinds. Manages the tight materials process to ensure security of supply.Support Ecolab’s quality systems through engagement with suppliers to work toward successful corrective action resolution and continued quality.
