We are seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to lead and manage our organization's procurement operations. The ideal candidate will have strategic thinking abilities, a comprehensive understanding of procurement processes, and expertise in vendor management and supply chain operations. The Procurement Manager will play a crucial role in cost optimization, ensuring timely delivery of goods and services, and fostering strong supplier relationships.
ResponsibilitiesFormulate and implement procurement strategies, overseeing the entire procurement cycle from initial proposal to product delivery.Manage both strategic and tactical purchasing activities.Develop and execute strategies for sourcing from low-cost regions.Collaborate with supply chain planners to forecast demand and ensure the availability of materials or products.Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers, vendors, and freight forwarders.Cultivate strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring favorable terms for the organization.Design and implement supply chain processes aligned with evolving business strategies, market dynamics, and cost-reduction goals.Evaluate and adopt technology solutions to enhance tracking, reporting, and distribution efficiency.Foster and sustain robust relationships with suppliers and vendors.Collaborate closely with suppliers to understand their capabilities and negotiate improved terms.Resolve any issues or disputes arising during the procurement process.Lead and inspire a procurement team, offering guidance and support to 2-3 direct reports.Nurture a collaborative and productive work environment, driving the attainment of departmental goals.Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and legal requirements in all procurement activities.Identify potential supply chain risks and implement mitigation strategies.Analyze inventory levels to enhance inventory turnover, minimize waste, and improve customer service.Develop strategies to mitigate risks associated with inventory management.Essential Skills6-10 years of procurement experience within a manufacturing setting, ideally in aerospace.ERP knowledge, preferably Epicor, but experience in other systems is acceptable.Advanced Excel skills, including vlookup, pivot tables, macros, and formulas.Experience in vendor management, negotiation, strategic sourcing, and contract negotiation.Proficiency in project management and MRP systems.Understanding of ITAR compliance.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in a working manager role, balancing hands-on procurement tasks with team leadership.Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.Ability to work under pressure and effectively manage multiple responsibilities.Willingness to work collaboratively and embrace a culture of wearing multiple hats.Work EnvironmentThe role is based in an ITAR-compliant aerospace engineering and manufacturing environment. The company specializes in custom components and systems for commercial, executive, and military aircraft, covering the full lifecycle from design and engineering to manufacturing and testing. The work schedule is primarily 1st shift from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, with some flexibility required for business needs. The position is a contract-to-hire arrangement, offering a stable work environment with opportunities for growth within the organization. The culture emphasizes collaboration, attention to detail, and a willingness to engage in all aspects of procurement.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $57.00 - $69.00/hr.
