Job Description
The Procurement Manager – Category is responsible for executing complex category strategies across multiple sites to enhance the assigned categories of spend. This role involves collaboration with a cross-functional team including sourcing, operations, technical, finance, and other colleagues to prioritize sourcing initiatives, develop sourcing strategies, negotiate contracts, support spend migration to preferred suppliers, and manage relationships with these suppliers.
Responsibilities
Manage global category initiatives to achieve key performance indicators such as savings, supplier rationalization, low-cost region sourcing, and risk management.Lead the execution of 3 to 5-year global sourcing strategies, focusing on contracting with preferred suppliers that align with business needs and category management goals.Participate in the development of long-term global sourcing strategies to meet business and category goals.Monitor market intelligence and key trends, assess impacts, and refine category plans to support business requirements.Engage and support division/site procurement teams to qualify preferred suppliers and migrate spend from non-preferred suppliers.Analyze category supplier performance data to identify opportunities for improvement and establish continuous improvement goals.Participate in supplier business reviews to ensure compliance with performance standards and continuous improvement goals.Manage strategic contracts across suppliers, products, and services within the category.Facilitate the flow of spend intelligence and analysis to internal business leaders for informed decision-making.Drive negotiations for global agreements aligned with the category strategy.Collaborate with cross-functional colleagues to ensure all category sourcing activities align with common goals and priorities.Establish category plans and priorities globally to align with divisional business priorities.Essential Skills
Minimum of 5-7 years of procurement/sourcing experience in mid to large multinational companies.Strong category/business engagement experience.Business acumen to assess market/business requirements and negotiate meaningful agreements.Experience working in highly regulated industries.Experience in a continuous improvement environment with a track record of achieving significant results.Consultative and collaborative style in performing sourcing activities.Ability to influence without authority and manage a cross-functional team across geographies.Additional Skills & Qualifications
CPSM or equivalent is preferred.Hands-on manufacturing and/or supply chain experience is preferred.Experience in life sciences, medical device, or pharmaceutical industries is preferred.Ability to travel 25 to 50% within the US.Experience with injection molding is preferred.Bachelor’s degree in Business or technical field or equivalent combination of experience and education required. Master’s Degree is preferred.Work Environment
This position can be based in either Morrisville, NC or Pittsburgh, PA, working Monday to Friday from 8 am to 5 pm without overtime. The work schedule includes four days on-site and one remote day per week in a business casual office environment.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $45.00 - $50.00/hr.
