Job Description:
This position is responsible for designing and executing commodity strategies across multiple categories, including Operational and Customer Supplies, Security, Temporary Labor, and Automotive. The role focuses on implementing value-driven sourcing strategies that optimize total cost of ownership, ensure quality, and align with organizational objectives. The manager collaborates with business units to define sourcing requirements, leverages spend data and builds strategic supplier relationships to deliver measurable results.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute global and national commodity strategies for assigned categoriesLead sourcing initiatives using e-sourcing tools (Coupa preferred) to drive competitive bidding and supplier engagementAnalyze industry trends, spend data, and supply chain dynamics to identify cost reduction and service improvement opportunitiesManage the RFP process and supplier negotiations to achieve optimal terms and conditionsCreate and maintain supplier scorecards to monitor performance and compliance with contractual obligationsConduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for critical supply categoriesPartner with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment of procurement strategies with business objectivesPromote supplier diversity and sustainability initiatives within sourcing strategiesOversee vendor performance management and ensure adherence to agreementsQualifications
Bachelor’s degree (BA) required; MBA preferred in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or related fieldProven experience in designing and executing commodity strategies across multiple categoriesStrong proficiency in e-sourcing platforms (Coupa) and advanced analytical skillsExcellent negotiation and stakeholder management capabilitiesWorking knowledge of data analysis tools (SQL, Python, Excel); R Studio experience is a plusDemonstrated leadership experience managing teams and complex projects.Fluent English skillsAt least six months employment track at current position in UPS (for internal candidates only)Additional Competencies
