As a Procurement Lead working on the Amazon Fulfillment Center team, you will serve as the bridge between centralized Procurement and site leadership. You will own the site’s indirect procurement operations, including service vendor management, purchase order processing, and inventory control.
You will also lead some local negotiations and develop strategies for local vendors. Additionally, you will provide procurement leadership and partner with the building leadership team to drive efficiencies and improvements at the site.
Key job responsibilities
• Provide procurement support for the fulfillment center, including supplier management (goods and services);
• Plan and control stocks of package materials (non-inventory);
• Lead and develop team of non-Inventory associates to ensure building has adequate resources and is set up for success;
• Manage Janitorial team to guarantee the vendor is executing the service as agreed SLA;
• Manage and drive safety compliance for teams during day-to-day activities;
• Guarantee the right Procurement to Pay process (P2P) including receiving process;
• Develop relationship across the building and network to ensure best practices are being shared and implemented;
• Assist Finance and internal customers to determine budgets and maintenance for blanket PO management;
• Track and monitor supplier performance, goods and service;
• Work in partnership both internally and with suppliers to develop innovative solutions to provide Procurement support to the Operations network;
• Partner with AP, Suppliers and various internal teams to ensure timely resolution of vendor payment issues;
• Leading local vendors negotiation, with defined Work Order and Contracts.
A day in the life
Work is done in a warehouse environment that requires frequent walking around the building.
Due to the interaction with Global Teams, English is a mandatory Basic Qualification.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration or related fields;
- Experience in Procurement or Supply chain positions;
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel;
- Experience in vendor relationship management and contract negotiation;
- Advanced English (written and verbal).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in procurement;
- Experience in Coupa or other financial management/procurement software;
- Experience leading and developing an operation team.
