This position provides administrative and operational support to the procurement team on a tactical level, assisting with purchase order processing, vendor coordination, contract administration, and data management within procurement systems and tools. Working closely with internal stakeholders, the Procurement/Supply Chain Administrator ensures that procurement activities align with Telesat’s corporate standards, timelines, and cost objectives. The role requires a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and familiarity with technology procurement processes, as well as an understanding of working in a highly regulated and quality-focused environment.
**Responsibilities**
+ Prepare, issue, and track purchase orders (handle all orders under $2000 with a quote already attached or for web-based vendors)
+ Maintain supplier and contract records within procurement systems (vendor code creation, managing reminders for upcoming expiry dates, NDAs)
+ Support sourcing activities, including obtaining quotes and assisting with vendor evaluations & data gathering for due diligence.
+ Monitor order status, delivery schedules, and resolve discrepancies with suppliers.
+ Assist in the administration of procurement contracts and compliance documentation (gap filing, renumbering in Webcon)
+ Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure timely approval and payment of invoices (expediting and follow up on approvals as necessary)
+ Contribute to process improvement initiatives within procurement operations (filing, etc.)
**Skills and Experience**
+ Post-Secondary Education/College Diploma preferred (2-5 years experience in supply chain can be considered).
+ Experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain administration (ideally within technology, aerospace, or telecom sectors).
+ Proficiency with ERP or procurement systems. (shows aptitude or a cognitive ability).
+ Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
+ Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Smartsheet, etc.)
+ Knowledge of procurement policies, supplier management, and contract administration.
The successful candidate must be able to work in Canada and obtain clearance under the Canadian Controlled Goods program (CGP).
