Process Technician
Job Title: Process TechnicianJob Description

We are seeking a skilled Process Technician to work with injection molding machines and secondary equipment, focusing on tooling issues to reduce downtime and improve efficiency. The role involves monitoring process and product quality, maintaining and improving quality standards, and collaborating with Manufacturing Engineering to enhance process efficiency.

ResponsibilitiesWork with injection molding machines and secondary equipment on tooling issues to reduce downtime and improve efficiency.Monitor process and product quality while tooling runs.Maintain and improve quality standards.Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to reduce downtime and scrap, and improve process efficiency.Participate in improving tool changeover times and color changeover time.Identify and report molding problems due to tooling issues to the Supervisor.Participate in maintaining tooling and equipment through the TPM Program.Record downtime, scrap, and changeover times.Address minor processing issues.Work flexibly to meet customer demands and requirements.Assist with additional tasks as assigned.Ensure safe operations during mold changes, color changes, and movements with cranes and robot operations.Essential Skills3+ years of automotive plastic injection molding experience.3+ years of Process Technician experience.Proficient in operating and troubleshooting injection molding machines.Experience with overhead crane operations up to 50 tons.Strong technical problem-solving skills.Proficient level of English.Basic understanding of polymers and resins, and experience with materials such as Polypropylene, ABS, and Nylon.Additional Skills & QualificationsTechnical diploma, preferably with a specialization in injection molding.Experience as a Process Technician in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Training and experience in the operation of overhead cranes.Knowledge of Quality systems and Health, Safety, and Environment practices.Experience with Sepro robots and understanding of end-of-arm tool changes.Basic knowledge of injection molding machine mounted blenders and feed systems.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

The position is based in a 750,000 square foot facility built in 2012, featuring a clean and updated plant environment with approximately 1,000 employees across three shifts. The facility is air-conditioned and heated, ensuring comfort throughout the year. The role involves working on the plant floor alongside electricians and machine repairmen to keep machinery running smoothly in a fast-paced, semi JIT environment. Shifts include: A Crew (Monday-Thursday, 6:00am-6:00pm), B Crew (Tuesday-Friday, 6:00pm-6:00am), and C Crew (Friday-Saturday, 6:00am-6:00pm, Sunday-Monday, 6:00pm-6:00am).

This is a Contract position based out of Detroit, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $30.00/hr.
