**Job Description**
The Thermoforming Process Technician is responsible for operating specialized machinery for high-end retail and medical packaging needs. The role involves pre-staging, setup, operation, monitoring, and troubleshooting of thermoforming machines and equipment. The technician will perform routine preventative maintenance, in-process inspection of parts, and make necessary adjustments to maintain product quality. This position requires a thorough understanding of machine practices and process control.
**Responsibilities**
+ Operate and monitor thermoforming machines and equipment.
+ Perform routine preventative maintenance on machinery.
+ Conduct in-process inspection of parts to ensure they meet visual standards and customer specifications.
+ Make adjustments or tool changes to maintain product quality.
+ Communicate with 1st shift operator, supervisor, and leads during shift changes.
+ Maintain clean and orderly workstations, including machines and equipment.
+ Monitor machines for mechanical issues and take corrective action.
+ Perform machine line setup, lineout, and troubleshooting for production runs.
+ Develop machine set-up parameters and heat profiles for production runs.
+ Review and maintain logs, check sheets, inspection sheets, and work orders.
+ Assist in overall maintenance of machines and equipment, including minor repairs.
+ Calculate dimensions, sizes, shapes, and tolerances of tooling and equipment based on specifications.
+ Ensure all materials, tooling, and master tooling are properly labeled and segregated.
+ Perform pre- and post-production tool inspections and preparations.
**Essential Skills**
+ Experience in thermoforming or injection molding.
+ Knowledge of plastics and packaging.
+ Ability to troubleshoot machinery.
+ Proficiency in production line setup and maintenance repair.
+ High school diploma or equivalent.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Thermoforming experience preferred.
+ Open to candidates with injection molding or plastics experience.

**Work Environment**
The work environment is very clean, featuring 18 thermoforming lines divided between the North and South sides of the facility, with one side dedicated to medical customers. Employees are expected to maintain a high level of housekeeping and adhere to 5S standards.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Permanent position based out of Bensenville, Illinois.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $58240.00 - $83200.00/yr.
