**Job Title: Process Technician**
**Job Description**
The Thermoforming Process Technician is entrusted with the operation of specialized machinery tailored for high-end retail and medical packaging requirements. This role encompasses a variety of responsibilities including pre-staging, setup, operation, monitoring, and troubleshooting of thermoforming machines and equipment, alongside routine preventative maintenance. The technician performs in-process inspections to ensure product adherence to visual standards and customer specifications, making necessary adjustments or tool changes to uphold quality. The role demands a comprehensive understanding of machine practices and process control, typically overseeing 1-2 machines while maintaining communication with the 1st shift operator, supervisor, and leads during shift transitions.
**Responsibilities**
+ Maintain clean and orderly workstations, machines, and equipment, ensuring a high level of housekeeping and 5S in assigned areas.
+ Monitor machines for mechanical issues through visual and auditory inspection, taking corrective actions and assisting in problem-solving.
+ Ensure correct stock and materials are used at all times and are located by the machine.
+ Perform machine line setup, lineout, troubleshooting, and machinery start-up and shutdowns for production runs.
+ Develop machine setup parameters and heat profiles for production runs.
+ Conduct in-process inspection of parts to ensure they meet visual standards of acceptance and conformance.
+ Identify product defects and adjust equipment as necessary.
+ Review and maintain required logs, check sheets, inspection sheets, and work orders.
+ Assist in overall maintenance of machines and equipment, including minor repairs and preventative maintenance following manufacturer’s instructions.
+ Calculate dimensions, sizes, shapes, and tolerances of tooling and equipment based on specifications, monitoring product quality through visual inspection and other quality and dimensional measuring tools.
+ Ensure all materials, tooling, and master tooling are properly labeled, segregated, and returned pre and post-production.
+ Perform pre- and post-production tool inspections, preparations, installations, and removals.
+ Communicate job status and production issues to next shift Process Technicians, Leads, and/or Supervisor.
**Essential Skills**
+ Experience with thermoforming, injection molding, and plastic packaging.
+ Proficient in troubleshooting and maintenance repair.
+ Ability to perform production line setup.
+ 5+ years of experience with setup or quality control.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ High School Diploma or equivalent.
+ Preferred experience in thermoforming or relatable experience in injection molding and plastics.
+ Open to Mold Set Up Technicians with relatable experience.

**Work Environment**
The work environment is exceptionally clean, with 18 thermoforming lines dedicated to retail and medical customers. One side of the facility is specific to medical clients, ensuring specialized focus and adherence to industry standards.

This is a Permanent position based out of Bensenville, Illinois.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $58240.00 - $83200.00/yr.
