The Process Scientist supports the Critical Raw Materials team responsible for manufacturing liquid components used in in-vitro diagnostic (IVD) products. These immune-system-based reagents, including antibodies, antigens, and serum proteins, are produced, tested, and prepared for use on diagnostic analyzers. This role involves material processing, reagent formulation, in-process testing, and final quality control for both internal products and a small OEM product line.
Responsibilities
+ Perform material processing and reagent formulation for bulk intermediates and components.
+ Support production of serum proteins and OEM liquid products.
+ Determine reprocessing needs for calibrators, controls, and antibodies with guidance.
+ Maintain Good Laboratory Practices and contribute to lab/equipment upkeep.
+ Conduct in-process testing and final QC for serum protein products following established procedures.
+ Assign calibrator values and control ranges to optimize kit performance.
+ Monitor internal control supplies and manufacture new controls as needed.
+ Perform second-checks to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in laboratory techniques and biochemistry.
+ Experience in in-vitro diagnostics and reagent preparation.
+ Ability to work in a regulated environment.
+ Good documentation skills.
+ Experience with laboratory equipment such as pH meters, balances, and mixers.
+ Self-starter with high attention to detail.
+ Motivated by work that improves patient lives.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, or Biochemistry.
+ 6+ months of lab experience (academic or industry).
+ GMP experience.
+ Previous manufacturing experience (GMP or non-GMP).
+ In-vitro diagnostics experience/exposure.
+ Previous biotech or reagent production experience.
Work Environment
The role is based in a GMP manufacturing environment. Initially, it is open to cover some FMLA leaves but could lead to full-time employment due to anticipated retirements or organic growth. The position operates Monday-Friday on the 1st shift, with a start time as early as 5am, accommodating a later start time of 7am if preferred. It involves 80% hands-on laboratory work and 20% desk-based documentation and coordination, within a fast-paced, highly collaborative team supporting critical raw materials for diagnostic products.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Stillwater, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
