Job Title: Process Operator

Job Description

Operators will be responsible for a variety of tasks within the warehouse to ensure customer orders are processed and dispatched efficiently. This includes general cleaning of the plant, washing hoses, cleaning large totes and drums, and handling materials using a sit-down forklift. The primary focus is on managing liquid chemicals used for water treatment, with the potential for cross-training in mixing solid and liquid chemicals in the future.

Responsibilities

Take directions from the shift manager to fill orders, stage them at the dock, and load trucks upon arrival.Clean hoses used for filling totes with liquid chemicals, tidy up the warehouse, and clean drums as needed.Use electronic pallet jacks and sit-down forklifts to move finished totes or palletized drums and stage them appropriately.Accurately fill out paperwork including process conditions, test results, instrument readings, and shipping documentation.Spend time washing and disposing of used totes, cutting down and cleaning trashed drums to manage backlog.

Essential Skills

Experience on sit-down forklift for at least 6 months or regular current use.Manufacturing or production experience, or any labor-intensive role.Strong customer focus and attention to detail for accurate labeling and order picking.Willingness and ability to work outdoors as needed, such as during drum washing tasks.Ability to take direct feedback on work performance and processes.Comfort with working with chemicals, following safety procedures.Capability to shave beard to fit into a respirator as required.Steel-toed shoes are mandatory.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Chemical manufacturing experience is advantageous.Experience in mixing or blending chemicals is a plus.No educational or GED requirements.

1st shift: 4:00am-12:00pm$20

Work Environment

Operators work in shifts with options for 1st shift (4am-12pm), Mid shift (8am-4pm), and 2nd shift (12pm-8pm, sometimes extending to 8:30pm). While weekend work is not mandatory, employees often volunteer to ensure tasks are completed. PPE including bump cap, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, and chemical suit are required, with the suit adding extra warmth. The warehouse is temperature-controlled, but can be hot in summer. Main chemicals handled include phosphates, sodium hypo, caustic soda, and various coagulants.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Camby, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
