Process Engineer III
Job Title: Process Engineer IIIJob Description

The Process Engineer III will be responsible for the technical ownership of the production process. This role involves overseeing process control and providing technical guidance to other engineers. The engineer will lead efforts in new product development and production integration, focusing on maximizing efficiency and quality through hands-on problem-solving using RCCA, Lean Six Sigma, or other technical tools.

ResponsibilitiesExecute all process engineering activities across various processes, including manufacturing, process control, optimization, scrap reduction, and engineering trials.Implement and troubleshoot tools by providing root cause and corrective actions (RCCA) for issues in impregnation or batch mixing manufacturing.Lead and support the establishment and measurement of process performance standards related to quality, waste, and throughput.Contribute to operational reviews and efforts leading to safety, process improvements, and cost reduction.Support investigations and execute RCCA in operational non-conformances and customer-related issues.Plan, lead, and execute capital projects and process improvement activities.Support and participate in customer site audits/qualifications and visits.Define and document product and processing parameters, capability, cost reductions, and manufacturing improvements.Evaluate, troubleshoot, and solve quality processes, safety, and process-led improvements.Create and document manufacturing processes and methods per AS9100 (or equivalent) quality system.Provide training for manufacturing configurations, Bills of Materials, Routers, Work Instructions, SPC/SQC, and Control Plans.Collaborate with Manufacturing, Maintenance, Process Technology, R&D, Quality Assurance, and Receiving/Shipping to achieve company objectives.Support multiple projects simultaneously.Assist in safety and environmental issues associated with manufacturing processes and equipment.Perform other duties as assigned and be available to work off-hours when needed.Essential SkillsBachelor’s Degree in material science, engineering, chemical, mechanical, or related field.More than seven years of experience in composite materials or aerospace manufacturing.Experience in mentorship, training, or supervision is preferred.In-depth understanding of statistical analysis, process control, project management, RCCA, and FMEA.Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt training (certification preferred).Strong knowledge of Root Cause, PFMEA, Statistics, and SQC/SPC.Understanding of business ERP systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics D365).Clear communication skills in English, both written and verbal.Ability to work and communicate with interdisciplinary teams and leadership.Maintain neat, orderly, and safe work areas; follow PPE safety procedures.Additional Skills & QualificationsPrevious experience with composite part manufacturing and/or composite impregnation processes preferred.Experience specifically in thermoset/thermoplastic resin systems with carbon and/or glass tape/fabrics.Work Environment

This position requires onsite work. The work environment involves collaboration with various teams and maintaining a safe and organized workspace. Employees are expected to adhere to PPE safety procedures.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Morgan Hill, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $130000.00/yr.
