Process Development Technician
Full Time Contract Title or Role: Process Development Technician Location: Onsite, Puerto Rico Length of Contract: 6+ months Position Description: Supports the development of capable processes and ensures the efficient and effective transfer of new products into production. This role contributes technical expertise to Process Development engineers and teams in the design, analysis, and execution of processes, with a required high level of independence and knowledge of automated manufacturing equipment. Responsibilities: + Execution of Deliverables: Independently execute functional deliverables associated with Process Development and Technology Development projects, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and on schedule. + Prototype Support: Support the testing and manufacturing of prototypes/materials for new products with minimal guidance from engineering staff. + Data Organization & Reporting: Accurately organize and document all testing data , preparing clear reports and documentation to effectively communicate technical results. + Process Improvement: Assess existing process capabilities, identify opportunities for improvement, and actively innovate and implement process enhancements on complex manufacturing steps. + Equipment Maintenance & Qualification: Work with internal and external vendors to maintain, troubleshoot, calibrate, and qualify automated manufacturing equipment. + Tooling and Automation Support: Apply technical knowledge to support the design and development of processes, procedures, tooling, and automation solutions. + Problem Solving: Identify technical problems within the functional area, propose effective solutions, and independently solve basic technical issues with a focus on quick resolution. + Training and Knowledge Transfer: Train manufacturing personnel and other technicians on new product processes, procedures, and equipment operations to facilitate efficient production transfer. Qualifications + Experience: Minimum of 2–5 years of progressive experience in a manufacturing or process development environment, preferably within the Medical Device industry. + Automation Knowledge: High independence and knowledge concerning the operation, setup, and troubleshooting of automated manufacturing equipment . + Collaboration Record: Proven record of successfully working with and supporting both Manufacturing and Process Development Engineers . + Technical Documentation: Foundational understanding of medical device documentation requirements and the ability to maintain accurate records. + Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with cross-functional teams (R&D, Quality, Production, etc.). + Continuous Improvement Mindset: Strong desire to learn new technical skills and actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. + Communication: Ability to exchange technical information in a clear, concise, and logical way. Education & Certifications: + Associate's Degree in a technical field (Engineering Technology, Industrial Mechanics) or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
