Process Development Associate
Job Title: Process Development AssociateJob Description

This position is fully on-site in Thousand Oaks, CA, and requires candidates with lab experience and at least one year of working on similar projects. The role involves weekend work, requiring 1-2 weekend days a month for a total of 3-4 hours. As a Process Development Associate, you will work on culturing mammalian cells, maintaining bioreactors, sampling bioreactors, and engaging in protein chromatography, filtration, and UF/DF operations. Additionally, you will be involved in lab operations, organization, and 5S initiatives.

ResponsibilitiesSupport the development, characterization, scale-up, and support of upstream and downstream processes to enable clinical advancement of programs.Design and execute experiments at the bench scale spanning the entire drug substance process, including cell culture and purification operations.Apply established platform approaches and utilize problem-solving skills to solve day-to-day experimental challenges.Contribute to laboratory operations, including participation in various yellowbelt and 5S projects.Expand and develop skills in both cell culture and purification.Essential SkillsBachelors or masters degree, or an associate degree with 4 years of scientific experience.Basic understanding of protein chromatography, filtration, or cell culture principles.Lab experience and at least one year of working on similar projects.Additional Skills & QualificationsMasters degree in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Life Sciences, or other relevant sciences with a demonstrated record of excellence.Ability to identify, develop, and implement solutions to practical problems through fundamental scientific and engineering principles.Hands-on experience with purification operations.Familiarity with 5S principles and organization of laboratory workspaces.Experience with data analytical tools like Excel and Spotfire.Motivated self-starter with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.Team player with the ability to work within a diverse team in a dynamic, cross-functional environment.Work Environment

This lab-based position is located at our Thousand Oaks, CA site, within an integrated bioprocess development group where cell culture and purification scientists collaborate. The work environment is rich, exciting, and dynamic, offering opportunities to work on multiple modalities including bi-specifics. The role requires weekend work of 1-2 weekend days a month for 3-4 hours, emphasizing a biology-first approach. Dress code and attire specifics are not mentioned.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
