Job Summary:\rFunctions under the direction of the department supervisors or Manager. Providing safe, age appropriate care to the patients in accordance with Policy and Procedures. Maintains good working relationships with managers, staff, physicians and their staff. Assist technologists and/or nurses with patient throughput, transporting patients, performs patient advocate functions, and assists with supply and room stocking activities. May perform Front Office tasks, registration, scheduling, answering phones, and insurance eligibility checks.\rCore Responsibilities and Essential Functions:\r1.\tTransportation of patients; Must be flexible with work hours to meet department needs\ra.\tMeets service recovery and customer service guidelines as needed\rb.\tUtilizes the EMR transport module and timely enters applicable information.\rc.\tTransports patients, along with necessary items (IV poles, O2 tanks, etc.).\rd.\tInforms technologists of potential patient safety issues; fall risk precautions, infection control precautions and standard precautions.\re.\tMaintains standard precautions in all patient interactions\rf.\tAssists in getting patients on and off the stretchers or beds as required\rg.\tAssists with observation of patients while in the department\rh.\tPerforms patient advocate role for patients while in the department\ri.\tIntroduces self to patient and/or family upon entering room\rj.\tIdentifies patient using 2 identifiers\rk.\tExplains where patient is going when transporting between departments\rl.\tPerforms appropriate hand-offs per protocol\rm.\tEnsures confidentiality of patient information to remain compliant with HIPPA guidelines\rn.\tCan verbalize their role in response to WellStar Emergency Plans\r2.\tProvides for room turnover activities to facilitate patient throughput\ra.\tHelps maintain exam rooms with supplies and linens\rb.\tInventories paper forms and orders as needed\rc.\tFollows procedure for transporting and disposing of dirty equipment.\rd.\tAssists with other duties as assigned\re.\tStocks rooms and rotates stock to avoid expiration of supplies\r3.\tCleaning and maintenance\ra.\tCleans/dusts equipment, utilizing appropriate disinfecting agent\rb.\tEnsures that supply room and dirty utility rooms are appropriately maintained\rc.\tEnsures logs are properly filled out and completed daily.\rd.\tAnswers telephone with appropriate scripting\re.\tCompletes required paperwork per policy.\rf.\tMaintains cleanliness of all equipment and work area\rg.\tChanges linens on beds for all patients while in the procedure room\r4.\tMust be flexible with work hours to meet department needs.\ra.\tKnows the existing lines of communication and authority, handles communications\rproperly and is dependable, cooperative and emotionally stable.\rb.\tAssists Therapists, Front Office, nursing and other staff in any other way required as appropriate.\rc.\tMeets service recovery and customer service guidelines as needed.\rPerforms other duties as assigned\rComplies with all WellStar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.\rRequired Minimum Education:High School Diploma General or GED General\r\rRequired Minimum License(s) and Certification(s):\rAll certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.BLS - Basic Life Support or ARC-BLS - Amer Red Cross Basic Life Support or BLS-I - Basic Life Support - Instructor\rAdditional License(s) and Certification(s):\rMust obtain medical terminology training within twelve (12) months within 180 Days Preferred\rRequired Minimum Experience:\rLess than 1 year Clinical experience in a healthcare setting. Medical Imaging experience preferred. Preferred\rRequired Minimum Skills:\rDemonstrates good communication skill and handwriting\rmust be able to communicate and understand verbal and written English language\rdisplay a positive attitude
