Private Bank, CRE Credit Analyst (Boston, MA)

As the Private Bank, (CRE) Credit Analyst, you will support the PM by preparing analyses of CRE borrowers for Annual Reviews, including spreading property level and guarantor financial statements. You will help complete written summaries of the relationship including identification of potential new risks. Additionally, you will support activities associated with credit file maintenance and compliance for a variety of credits. You will have the opportunity to independently perform analysis and modeling functions and prepare the Annual Review from beginning to end for straightforward loans.

Primary responsibilities include

Audits credit files to ensure that all necessary file documentation is present and up to date.Provide a white glove service to our clients, which includes timely responses to all client-related inquiries and requests.Create, maintain, and monitor all loan and credit files at the highest quality, which entails testing existing credit facilities for financial and reporting covenant compliance, detecting early warning signs that could lead to a potential default, monitoring underperforming loans and evaluating proper loan risk ratings.Prepares and submits internal reporting/compliance documentation and reporting for assigned portfolio.Prepares and processes loan modifications, tracks and collects ongoing financial reporting and tests covenant compliance.Assesses and confirms the accuracy of risk ratings and recommends changes as warranted to Portfolio Manager.Completes risk rating updates in system as needed.Ability to interpret financial statements, formulate material questions and draw preliminary conclusions based on analysis and can thoughtfully summarize findings.Accompanies RM/PM on client calls periodically. Able to field basic internal questions from Credit independently.Works diligently in support of assigned credits to present information in an organized manner.Typically supports a particular group of senior PMs in support of the activities noted above for moderately to very complex credits.

Qualifications, Education, Certifications and/or Other Professional Credentials

Bachelor’s degree is required.Equivalent work experience or completion of formal credit training program and up to 2 years of applied financial analysis working with straight forward to moderately complex credits with a focus on Commercial Real Estate is strongly preferred.Alternatively, 1-3 years of private banking, commercial banking, or summer analyst experience supporting a fast-paced environment is preferred.Position requires basic internet search skills, developed knowledge of financial statement spreading and profitability modeling, effective verbal and written communications skills, ability to manage multiple priorities at once.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.Ability to interact with high-level financial professionals in the CRE ecosystem, ranging from fund administrators to CFOs.Willingness to learn fund structure and how different loans support CRE in the Private Bank; experience underwriting credit approval packages for renewals and modifications to existing credit facilities preferredEnsure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies and procedures.Credit Analysts should be strong communicators in nature, having to liaise with various internal Bank colleagues, stakeholders, and clients

Hours per Week: 40Work Schedule: M-F Requirement of 4 days in office; 1 day WFH


Pay Transparency

The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $100,000 per year, plus an opportunity to earn an annual discretionary bonus.
