Principal Workplace Planner

Job Description:

This position requires office presence of a minimum of 5 days per week and is only located in the location(s) posted. No relocation is offered.

AT&T is looking for a Principal Workplace Planner to direct and coordinate all phases of complex, high-value interior workplace projects, with a focus on occupancy planning, space utilization, workplace design, and change management. Ensure efficient allocation of space and resources, technical excellence, and timely, on-budget project delivery, while maintaining the highest standards of quality and user experience through proactive collaboration with all stakeholders.

What you’ll do:

Develop and implement workplace strategies that support organizational goals, drive productivity, and enhance employee experience.

Conduct in-depth space programming and occupancy analyses to optimize floor plans, allocation, and density while ensuring compliance with company policies and safety guidelines.

Lead the design and reconfiguration of office environments to support evolving workstyles, including hybrid, collaborative, and activity-based settings.

Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for occupancy and workplace planning projects, from concept through completion.

Develop comprehensive project plans, timelines, and budgets, managing multiple concurrent initiatives and aligning deliverables with organizational priorities.

Oversee vendor selection and management for design, construction, and move services.

Implement and enforce rigorous quality control measures, conducting regular site inspections and coordinating with facilities and real estate teams.

Serve as the primary liaison between business leaders, employees, architects, designers, and contractors to capture requirements, communicate project status, and address concerns.

Lead change management initiatives and communications to ensure a smooth transition to new workplace configurations, fostering employee engagement and adoption.

Ensure all workplace modifications and occupancy plans prioritize safety, accessibility, and compliance with health and safety regulations.

What you’ll need:

Experience reviewing architectural drawings, workplace layouts, and technical specifications to ensure optimal space utilization, building code compliance, and adherence to workplace standards.

Expertise in solving workplace and space optimization challenges, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maximizing resource efficiency.

Experience preparing and delivering comprehensive reports and occupancy dashboards to senior management and stakeholders.

Ability to work autonomously and proactively, often engaging with senior and executive leadership as a trusted strategic advisor.

Experience selecting and managing vendors

What you’ll bring:

Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) preferred.

Experience in workplace and occupancy planning, leveraging advanced knowledge and industry best practices to shape organizational strategy and deliver impactful, large-scale projects.

Minimum 10+ years of relevant experience in workplace planning, interior architecture, corporate real estate, or related fields.

Our Principal Workplace Planner earns between $130,700 - $196,100 USD Annual. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
