Amazon's Quantitative Business Intelligence (QuBIT) organization is looking for a Principal UX Researcher to define research strategy, own the research roadmap, and lead research initiatives for QuBIT products. As a Principal UX Researcher, you will focus on user research that influences end-to-end operator experience and directly impacts the roadmap of MyPerformance, an application built within AtoZ that empowers NACF associates to actively monitor, understand, and take ownership of their work performance.
Key job responsibilities
• Build and sustain a program for collecting, synthesizing, and communicating foundational insights on human needs and motivations, to inform mid-to-long term planning efforts of the team.
• Synthesize primary and secondary data to perform quick and thorough analyses leading to focused, insightful, and actionable findings.
• Translate insights into operational criteria aligned to business goals.
• Persuade decision makers at all levels of the organization to take aligned action on research findings.
About the team
QuBIT creates technical solutions that simplify Global Customer Fulfillment Operations. We unify sources of truth through metrics and tools, and fill gaps in visibility to reduce operational complexity for operators. We innovate to achieve global scalability of our services while remaining adaptable to emerging operational needs. QuBIT takes ownership of engineering excellence and leads initiatives to enhance software privacy and security for North America Customer Fulfillment (NACF).
Basic Qualifications
• 7+ years experience in UX research, design or related field
A portfolio that illustrates how your research has informed strategic decision-making.
• knowledge of a full range of UX research methods, both qualitative and quantitative, and the proven ability to execute the right methodology to get the needed result.
Preferred Qualifications
• Deep understanding of human motivations, capabilities, and limitations, and their implication for product design.
• MS in Human Factors, HCDE, or Cognitive Psychology.
• Ability to handle highest complexity and ambiguity, defining crisp, cogent strategy for net-new product development, whether from many diverse inputs, or with no input at all.
• Operations research experience in a global context.
• Excellent written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills; the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization.
• Ability to independently drive multiple concurrent projects in an agile environment.
• Passion for understanding and applying the latest learnings and innovations in social and behavioral science, research methods, and UX design.
• Strategic, business-building approach to research with a proven capacity for translating data into bottom-line impact.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $163,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $269,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
