A key member of the Systems Engineering function, this role is responsible for managing, planning, leading/conducting and reporting SE activities of an assigned project/programme. The Defence Systems Engineering Team provides support within the Control Systems Account through the Project Lifecycle from defining Customer needs to Delivery.

Responsibilities:
Lead and/or conduct the specification, planning, completion and delivery of Systems Engineering work packages throughout the project lifecycle.Produce/review project technical documentation to project schedule.Prepare for and successfully deliver key design reviews (e.g. SRR/PDR/CDR) in accordance with the Systems Engineering processes and programme schedule.Technical management of suppliers, ensuring requirements and design baselines are maintained.Reviewing and challenging technical documentation received from Customer and suppliers.Lead/support reviews with the Customer and key suppliers.Ensure effective integration with other engineering functions involved in the delivery of the programme (Hardware, Mechanical, Software, V&V, ILS, Cybersecurity, Safety etc.).Technical and task leadership to deliver work packages to time, cost and quality, prioritising work, resolving issues or escalating as necessary.Ensure designs comply with approved management plans, using approved design methods, competent personnel, effective delivery systems and design processesDetermine and mitigate Project and technical constraints, challenges and changesLead/support team Risk and Opportunity management activitiesLead/support technical estimation, Proposal and bid compilation activitiesConduct periodic self-assessment, review and audit of design standards, methods, competencies and processes & procedures in the quality systemBenefits:

We are looking for:
Degree-qualified in a relevant engineering / technical subject (e.g. Systems Engineering, Software, Electrical engineering or similar)3-5 years’ experience in a Systems Engineering role within defence, maritime, aerospace, or a similarly regulated industrial sector including supervisory activitiesExperience of systems requirements management, definition, design, integration, acceptance and analysisKnowledge of Control Systems and experienced and/or knowledgeable with PLC, SCADA and related Operational Technology systemsKnowledge of System Engineering models and techniques.Able to work with people effectively at all levels, using well-developed influencing and interpersonal skillsExperience of Model based design techniques including tools such as Enterprise ArchitectTeam leadership experience or a strong aptitude for managing and developing peopleStrong IT skills, specifically with MS Office productsDemonstrable knowledge and experience in requirements management (inc. tools such as DOORS or similar)Knowledge of marine electronic equipment and/or the marine environmentFamiliar with military environmental standards (e.g. DEF STAN 00-35, 59-411)Knowledge and experience of engineering safety related systems (SIL 2 / 3)Knowledge/Experience of V&V activities including IADT, Environmental & EMC qualification with external test housesINCOSE Associate/Chartered Systems Engineering ProfessionalSecurity clearance:
