As a Principal System Engineer, you’ll be responsible for translating business needs into technical solutions and defining solutions to problems through reasoned application of information technology. You will work primarily on our Microsoft Teams and M365 platform at AT&T. This will include supporting our entire Microsoft Teams instance, as well as building out and developing any new features or initiatives into Microsoft Teams. This will also overlap with other M365 services, so a broad knowledge of how M365 services interact, is a must. You will drive our support relationship between our service and our employees both through issue resolution, as well as new feature and functionality development. You will collaborate with our team, broad AT&T employee teams, as well as directly with Microsoft.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

Act as a Subject Matter Expert for Microsoft Teams, in order to assist a broad set of employees

Support M365/Teams employees across a wide range of modalities

Ability to go technically deep in Microsoft Teams (and ideally other M365 services), and actively seek solutions to employees needs, as well as communicating to leadership

Designs, develops, documents, and analyzes overall architecture of AT&T’s Microsoft Teams (and ideally other M365 services) instance

Determines integrated hardware and software architecture solutions that meet performance, usability, scalability, reliability, and security needs

Coordinates design and integration of total system including subsystems

Research and recommend technology to improve the current systems

Supports technical initiatives normally as part of a larger project

Works on development of new technologies or maintenance of existing technologies

Exchanges complex technical information and provides training and guidance to others in work areas by breaking down information in a systematic and logical manner

Required Qualifications:

8-10 years of related experience

Desired Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems or related technical field

Desired Qualifications:

3-5 years’ experience directly with M365 services, primarily Microsoft Teams

Experience analysis, troubleshooting, and providing solutions for technical issues (primarily in M365 services)

Certification in Microsoft and/or competing Cloud Technologies strongly preferred

Experience in building multiple versions systems addressing performance and scale

Experience developing technical documentation on applications and systems

Ability to work with technical and business-oriented teams

Our Principal System Engineering earns between $141,300 - $237,400 annually.  Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
