Principal Strategic Workforce Planning Advisor

**Job Description**
Join us as a Principal Strategic Workforce Planning Advisor, where your consulting mindset and love for data come together to shape our future workforce. In this role, you’ll partner closely with HR, Finance, and business leaders to turn strategy into practical, insight‑driven workforce plans. With a strong foundation in position management and deep expertise in systems like Workday and Adaptive Workforce Planning, you’ll guide stakeholders, strengthen governance, and ensure we have the right roles, skills, and talent to support our business today and tomorrow.
This position blends analytics, financial acumen, and consultative influence, operating at the intersection of workforce strategy, budget planning, and organizational design, while ensuring core position management processes underpin all workforce planning activities.
**What** **You’ll** **Do**
+ Consultwith HR Business Partners, Divisional Finance, and business leaders to build andmaintainmulti-year workforce plans that are closely aligned to business strategy, financial targets, and transformation initiatives, with rigorous position management as a core foundation.
+ Share forward‑looking workforce insights with HR Centers of Excellence partners to support proactive planning across talent, learning, and other COEs.
+ Utilize expert knowledge of Workday and Adaptive Workforce Planning systems to drive disciplined position management, ensuring that role requests are aligned with approved workforce plans and financial governance. Advise leaders on position strategy, system processes, and the integration of position data across platforms.
+ Provide strategic advisory support on workforce scenarios, including growth, contraction, role prioritization, and skill shifts across short‑, mid‑, and long‑term horizons.
+ Translate enterprise and divisional strategies into workforce implications,identifyinggaps, risks, and trade‑offs.
+ Partner with the People Insights team to develop and interpret forecasting models and scenario analyses to support budget planning and workforce decision‑making.
+ Ensure data integrity, consistency, and alignment across Workday, Adaptive, and other financial planning tools to enable confident, system-supported workforce decisions.
+ Support leaders and HR partners through education, tools, and guidance, with a focus on building workforce planning maturity and foundational position management capabilities.
+ Contribute to the evolution of workforce planning frameworks, tools, and governance, with a continuous improvement mindset toward position management and systemutilizationas the function matures.
**What You Bring**
+ Bachelor’s degree
+ 5 years of experience in related field
+ In lieu of degree, 7 years of experience in related field.
**Bonus Point** **s**
+ Experience with Workday(HCM, Finance)andWorkdayAdaptive Planning, or similar tools
+ Strong knowledge of foundational position management principles and system support
+ Proven ability to interpret and analyze data for workforce planning and position management

**Salary Range**
At Blue Cross NC, we take great pride in a fair and equitable compensation package that reflects market-price and our starting salaries are typically planned near the middle of the range listed. Compensation decisions are driven by factors including experience and training, specialized skill sets, licensure and certifications and other business and organizational needs. Our base salary is part of a robust Total Rewards package that includes an Annual Incentive Bonus*, 401(k) with employer match, Paid Time Off (PTO), and competitive health benefits and wellness programs.
